Not the official headset, I've never had echo with that but the playstation eye has a 4 way directional microphone array that picks up voice and cancels out all other noise it works great but problem is it recognizes an echo the same as a voice, this should alleviate that great job SONY

seems like I remember seeing that this let you do video chat with the people your playing psp with if you've both got cameras or @ least voice chat which most psp games don't support also the MANY psp games that only do ad-hoc will now basically have infrastructure support which would be amazing as well. Actually I version hacked my psp to 5.55 to run the Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker TGS demo and it let me boot it first try, although the ISO I got might already have been rebuilt with decryptor, but as this was the most seeded ISO on the site I'm sure that most people are not going to see any error messages. I know I didn't and have been happily playing GTPSP since last night.
