I think there's definitely a place for both.
I never played multiplayer until Uncharted 2 and I have probably put 50/60 hours into it.
I still really enjoy single players and most have some replay value (especially for trophies etc)
I think my problem is games that don't have a good single player campaign that get away with it because people seem happy with generic multi. (but again it's just personal choice)

I was just being a little facetious I buy what games I like might not have the most but don't have the least.
Last played Uncharted 3 beta, portal2 and killzone 3 am going to preorder Uncharted 3 as soon as I can (collectors edition Europe) and Batman AC as soon as available and will pick up infamous 2 when time allows.

You know the more I see of Nolan (and the others) the more I think ALL 3 of them could star in the movie, with some very big name baddies and collaborators to keep everyone happy.
Sony, if the script/direction was right would potentially have a huge hit.
I think it's just that most ps3 users are so happy and addicted to a few games of such quality that perhaps they don't need any more.
I think every one knows by now what VGCharts is and no one quotes them any more except for nameless "news bot"s on gameless sites.
In the UK it's number 12 in the pre-orders not bad at all to say they haven't given details as to what pre-order bonus you get exclusively from each supplier yet.
And not bad to say that with the multiplats like cod etc counting as several choices it would actually be number 7 in the pre-order charts if you counted the multi's as one.

Devs close down/are bought out all the time some having very good products eg Free Radical etc.
It costs an awful lot to run a development company whereas a succesful book is often writen by 1 person and edited by 2 or 3.
Movies have many more people involved but if it's a success has very good residual sales and tie ins. (heck maybe even a cruddy game tie in)
