I have the 60GB PS3, arguably the best iteration of the console. While I can indeed play PS1 and PS2 games on it, I can honestly say I have very rarely used this feature. I doubt a lot of people who own a PS3 bought the system to play last gen games. Dante's Inferno to GOW III is most likely in terms of what Dark Sector is to Gears of War. Or, better, what Conan was to God of War. Yes. I got this error at the same time I received RROD. This was back around May, '07. I did a chip reflow, which helped with the RROD for about a month or two- but one day while playing PGR3, I got the E74 error, white lines across the screen and all.
