I don't agree with you, "Same level of challenge" is referring to the difficulty.
Edit:
First he says: "Same challenge" (as demon's souls) THEN right after that he says: "IN FACT", referring to the challenge, will be "EVEN higher", meaning harder.
Interesting, I'll start using that technique! I'm only half way through so that might take some of the tension away, i hope :)
Maybe the problem is that they rushed through it because of the review. This is the kind of game you want to take your time with. AND take breaks. I'm pretty sure they didn't do that.
