MS themselves admitted they sold less than half what the PS4 sold, so they sold fewer than 58mn. It is probably about 50-51mn.
Series S/X may not even outsell the X1 🤣
I ****ing hate the S. The tragic thing is withour the S MS doesn't even threaten 10m units sold this gen 🤣
Me too. So many games have been cross-gen and I don't think a single game has made the PS5 sweat even a little. I will wait to see how the games take advantage of the better hardware, otherwise I'll just pass on it, like the PS4 Pro.
We may get a new track this update. The teaser never hints at anything more than the cars, gotta wait for the trailer to know more.
Naughty Dog is better than all the MS studios put together.
What blew me away most about the GTA VI trailer was the crowd density. RDR2 is still the most detailed, life-like game I've ever seen and that was built for an ancient PS4. Scary to think what GTA VI will be like.
We've had graphical gamechangers before, such as Crysis but those games still had gameplay to compliment it. Hellblade pretty much has none, and only achieved such graphics through being incredibly linear and having very small, closed off environments where very little is happening.
PS5 is nearly at 60 million only half-way through its life-cycle, but sure, the install base is not enough.
The gap grew to nearly 10m and will continue to grow.
Gap will grow bigger and bigger. Can easily see a 20m gap by the end of next year and a 50m+ gap by end of gen.
The PS2 didn't have the benefit of being a home console and a portable too but props to the switch, it's a sales beast.
Utterly loved the first, even bought the DLC. Bought the second day-one on PS3 too but it had a load of bugs, and it was lagging in content compared to PC over the course of its lifetime. Hopefully 3 isn't buggy and post-launch content is added more frequently on consoles.
Loved number 1 on the PS3 and PS4.
Errrr, the entire Half Life series has sold less than 20 million. No way in hell is Half Life bigger than Gran Turismo. When people think of racing games, Gran Turismo is the first name people think. Half Life is well known among 'core' gamers but overall it's fame pales in comparison to GT.
Of course they need a price cut. Right now it's extremely expensive just to buy a PS5 and a decent TV. Adding in VR takes costs to 1,500+ which is a huge investment. PSVR2 will sell less than the 1 so make of that what you will.
Woooow, two magazines having a contrarian opinion invalidates the hundreds of magazines that found Ragnarok/Elden Ring far superior experiences.
Great year for gaming. Thoroughly enjoyed Elden Ring, Ragnarok & Forbidden West and GT7 hasn't been too bad though it does have issues regarding events and economy.
Forza still uses car models from the 360 era. Gran Turismo and Forza aren't even in the same league when it comes to car models and of course more importantly physics. I won't mention Forza's colour palette either, which looks like a cartoon instead of looking even remotely realistic.
This is the most profitable gen for PS ever. They're doing brilliantly.
