Raiden got drunk, got into fights,became an emo, his pregnant girl friend left him ( but he doesn't know the truth why she left him at the time ), he travels to train with the eskimos, gets a ninja suit, goes from emo to super ninja, meets up with Snake....
I don't even have to by Rising to know the story.

I'm always amazed at the animation and the amount of detail whenever I'm watching Howl's Moving Castle. That's just one example though.
