No. Casual gamers are killing the traditional rpg.
Take White Knight Chronicles, for instance. WKC require losts of grinding online. While hardcore rpg fans don't mind the extra devotion required to enjoy that kind of gameplay, the first-person shooter loving society of critics won't bother exploring that portion of the game. (IGN even admited they didn't touch the online mode in WKC for their review, which is tantamount to an incomplete review ).

Looks like it's for a new game. I remember the devs saying that Capcom cut production short for Sengoku Basara 3, so it looks like this is the content they axed so they can make another game out of it.
Kind of like FFXIII.
The open world wasn't that big. I think i2 was smaller than the first game.
While I agree with your points about karma and the story, I think SP could have atleast allowed Cole to enter buildings ( we've been doing that in GTA since the PS2 days ), climb/jump a bit more realisticly( like in Uncharted ), plus we're still doing the same thing we did in the first game, hunt down blast shards and collect dead drops.

I have no problem with i2 getting a 7/10. It's the lowest score it deserves because Sucker Punch didn't really do anything new with the game.
Actually SE has shown more respect to the PSP and DS than they have HD systems, in terms of games.
While other companies have a good balance of handheld titles and console titles ( Konami, Namco, Capcom, Level-5 to name few ) Square Enix started this gen with too much focus on portable games( which don't sell well outside of Japan )now they're behind on PS3/360 development and are playing "catch up" with their purchase of Eidos.

Soooo..if the decision to make FFXIII-2 was made right around the western release of XIII, before the critics started bashing it, then why did they say they made XIII-2 to address complaints for XIII?

Antoniades, backed by Alex Jones, further opined that “what was cool 12 years ago (I think that was when the first game came out) isn't cool anymore.” (Note: when this interview was taken the game was around 9 years old. 12 years ago would put the game before the release of the PS2.)
Capcom said that the rumors of a HD collection were just that; rumors. Until they confirm/announce it, it'll only be a rumor.
I'm not too convinced by the picture in the article. Could easily be photoshoped and there's noway Crapcom would release this as a PS3 exclusive.
The fact that the PS3 sold over 100k is amazing given the PSN blackout last month.

That's Versus you're thinking about. It's still PS3 exclusive atm. XIII-2 is multi.
Final Fantasy Versus will be launch title and called FFXV in 2014!
I think it's because D3 is publishing the US version of the game. Maybe Aug is the earliest they could release it?
