To be fair the console has teeth, its a powerful system but it has nothing to chew on.
The better question is what did you find overwhelming about it? Was it all the timed exclusives or the ability to play Gen one games on a fourth Gen console?

You're right there is a group, they're called xbox fanboys who would buy it no matter what it costs, but beyond that group sales will taper off quickly. You're right though, if you want to play xbox games PC is the better option.

Be sure to tell your friends they will be able to play Anthem and Metro on their Playstations and if Forza 7 on their PC's. So defenitly no need to jump anywhere.

Even if you cant quite do it right now, by the time it actually comes out I bet you will be able to no problem. Also looking through the comments this article created a lot of salt for some reason, apparently it upsets them to know their beloved xbone x they've been waiting for isn't the end all be all Holy Grail they thought it was.

You seem upset about something. I wasn't totally sure until I saw the Knack comment and then I was like yep this dude is salty, anyone who brings up Knack at this point has to be, most everyone else has moved on.
If there was a bar set lets be honest here it was actually pretty low. The two best things Microsoft showed was Ori2 and Anthem and Anthem is multiplat. Yeah Microsoft showed a new console, one we already all knew about but they gave people, other than massive xbox fanboys, little to no reason to spend $500 on one. What matters is games and yes they showed a lot of those but very little were exclusive, they were instead "console launch exclusive" which is Microsoft's clever new ...
