Yeah it's attempt to broaded their market is exactly why they are in the trouble they are in with their fans of old, that and stupid decisions for the first part of the gen.
Slight problem with this, the sales trends have shown the 360 audience(not individuals but as a whole) are really not interested in jrpgs, and many of the western rpgs released now are more shooter than rpg.
I think se needs to take a step back, refocus their energies significantly away from trying to appeal to the casual western shooter market. And focus on releasing ff 13-2 and versus with the best possible quality that would please people disillusioned by ff13 or se's ...
Se was screwing up before they decided to make ff13 mp, that was just point of no return for some this gen. Versus could redeem the ff brand slightly, but if wada treats it like he did ff13, i'm done with se this gen.

Nintendo has a plethra of rpgs? They have 1 zelda which is very lite for a rpg other than xenoblade everything else is third party, plethra maybe on the handhelds, it's console not so much.

Your likely still using lithium ion batteries in all these handheld devices, they are going to switch magnesium based batteries at some point in the recent future, as well as other advances. It's a little foolish to want faster hardware ect, while expecting it to maintain a longer battery life, considering the devices are constantly getting smaller and not larger.

Hd dvd discs are not being produced anymore, ms needs a higher capacity disc next gen, br discs are cheap, reliable and have more than enough capacity and will likely have faster read speeds.

No mention of a hdd with every console sold, no mention of built-in bluetooth, and 50 gig brs not being enough he wants a 1 terabyte br( not available yet) used. Really at best 100 gig br should be more than sufficient for next gen, till the content goes well above 1080p, anything over 100 gig is a waste.
Btw by the time we need anywhere near a 1 terabyte media storage format, we will have shifted to flash cartridge devices and not be using discs anymore.

@sidar An external hdd is cheaper, seriously it's not that damn hard to have a built in hdd day 1, something that should be a given to even behind the times nintendo.
Nintendo is being lazy and/or cheap and doesn't want to seriously support a psn store/live marketplace system. But with the way they handled transferring games you bought on one wii to another wii, maybe it's for the best.
