Do sales really matter? CoD may be the highest selling game aside from Wii Sports but it really isn't selling that much. There are almost 50 million PS3s and 360s at this point, over 70 million Wiis, over 140 million DSs, 30 million PC gamers on Steam alone and yet the highest selling game that wasn't bundled with a console can't even reach 20 million sales. I'd say PC gaming is the winner their considering it is at least 16 times bigger.
You make it sound like there is something wrong with FPS and then you say you're buying a third person shooter in space and an action adventure game with guns.
I'd love to see Dice sell 8 million copies on a single platform in months but at the same time I really don't want to share my online experience with the average CoD player.

I wouldn't be surprised if well over 50% of the 360s sold were hardware failure replacements and slim upgrades and maybe even as many as 30% of PS3s.

Absolutely not. This game literally does nothing new. Short campaign, generic multiplayer and useless gimmicks. Where's the creativity that other PS exclusives have? The hype was all exclusivity. Where is the map editor? Unique gametypes? Warzone mixes a bunch of generic gametypes together and operations has a gimmicky cutscene followed by a generic gametype. The game drops the unique feel of KZ2 and manages to have more aliasing than KZ2. Even a train wreck of a series like Call of Duty ...
Brink boring? It does something new unlike Homefront, Crysis 2 and Killzone 3.
More console games need user created content. It seems most console devs are afraid to lose their ability to rape their customers for every penny they have with DLC. This will probably be a day one buy.

Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 will hold this game back because both MS and Sony don't have the balls to release an AO game on their platforms. Also where is Wii, PC and PSP(maybe NGP)?
