The video source comes straight from the official SOFs Youtube channel. Looks like someone accidentally made the video public for the Private Forum release. The official public reveal was supposed to be at 2pm today.
I think the greed of every shooter trying to make that "call of duty money yo" has left a consumer base behind. Not everyone on the PSN wants 20 FPS respawns. Some want something a bit more challenging, and an arena that they can treat as a sport with a hand-picked squad. "Clans" and the competitive scene they created is becoming a dying art. Luckily, Counter Strike has kept that spark alive in esports. I am hoping more games like H-Hour will come out of the woodwork to of...
That is what happens when people treat N4G like its FB or Twitter.
"Like many fans of the early SOCOMs, you may be among the legions asking for an HD version of SOCOM II. This isn’t that. We’re not here to simply deliver the past in a prettier package. We’re building the spiritual successor to the early SOCOM games from the ground up. H-Hour: World’s Elite is immediate, realistic, multiplayer-oriented and team-based. It is an experience directly inspired by the SOCOM series because those games were the starting point. H-Hour is several miles down the ro...
Just an FYI, per the article the H-Hour KickStarter was successful and the game is currently being developed. The studio is asking for feedback from SOCOM fans in the form of weekly polls. This N4G article was meant to spread awareness for those gamers out there who were not aware of this project, or did not know that the polling has started.
The video that is embedded is just a great, quick promo that covers some aspects of the game that SOCOM fans would find interesting. I ...

I wrote that article. A week later, the MAG community admitted that there was a voting glitch on the PS Blog Share site. The MAG 2 poll is bogus. The SOCOM 2 poll happened years prior before the glitch, and has the proportional number of comments to votes to prove it is valid. The MAG 2 poll, not so much.
If you like SOCOM 4, then you would absolutely love a true SOCOM with next gen technology. I think anyone that was introduced to SOCOM on the PS3, would be overwhelmed at how great the gameplay was on the PS2 versions. It has been 6 years since we have seen that formula in action, and a next gen attempt would blow Con & S4 clean out of the water.
You know what would happen? The government would rake in millions, spend 10% of it on awareness campaigns in schools across the country, and the rest of the money would be pocketed for who knows what.
This isn't a "solution" of any type. It is simply taking a popular conversation piece in society right now, finding a way to exploit the controversy for money, in order to offer a false sense of a solution. The only people who think this is a good idea are either g...
I hope Sony announces a new SOCOM. The PS3 has nearly killed the franchise off for good. A real sequel where the first two left off would be ideal, but even an HD Remake of the PS2 versions would be awesome. Come on Sony... SOCOM is not dead yet!
The only game I truly "dream" about is a real SOCOM sequel picking up where the first two left off. The PS3 generation of SOCOMs have nearly killed the franchise for good. I hope Sony has some good news for their cult SOCOM following on the PS4.
As a longtime SOCOM fan, I just completely disagree with most of what this author wrote. My opinions.... http://therealsocom.com/for...
If Sony announces a new SOCOM, then I will be the first in line to a buy a PS4 when it launches.
I will just put it this way...
Used games don't PREVENT me from buying brand new. They allow me to sample a franchise that I would never buy at full price. Big difference...
If there is a game I am interested in, I have no problem pre-ordering and paying full retail. But I would have never bought Uncharted 2 & 3 at full price, if I wouldn't have bought a cheap used copy of the original to see what the franchise was like. I would have never bought ...
"They’ve already demolished the possibility of a next-gen Wipeout or SOCOM game..."
No SOCOM on next-gen? LOL. You crazy fool!
FOX News? Is that you?
I agree. It is all about the gameplay with 2D platformers. Fun is the priority over everything else.
