the series has gained more depth over the years of Melee; back then everyone was a clone, marth and ike were the same character, ganon and flacon were the same character etc. So inflated rosters like that are what I mean. The game has gotten far better through the years but at its core it is not a true fighter; i'm sorry. It relies on RNG and luck to win often with some skill due to the environments and the random weapon drops and placements.

Smash has an insanely small movelist; that is why. Where in a real fighter like Soulcalibur, tekken, dead or alive may have a movelist of 50+ moves per character, smash has about 8-10. Smash works because of simplicity and it gains a huge roster because of the simplicity; but there were a lot of clones because of it as well. Smash is more of a party fighter than a full fledged fighting game.
I mean i mostly agree with you, just not on the ads thing, but hell, LBP did the same thing, they had small dev teams that would make multiple levels. I'd love to see it become the Youtube of gaming really; it could really revolutionize gaming as a whole
Your idea is kinda dangerous and would defeat the purpose of the game; something more sound would developers making patreons and asking for support to make more levels; all of which is a lot less abusable and people who dont pay can still get access to these things. Put the consumer in control; not the developers.

I'm hoping so too; these sales only show the physical copies, not the digital; so i'm hoping the digital make up for it. If it really does do badly, then we won't get a season 2 dlc pass sadly, nor another game. Meanwhile games like MK are fine =_= MK is so bad, I don't get it.
What Soul needs to do is what DOA did; allow the game to have a f2p version with paid unlockables; that exploded DOA's reach so much.
I never liked a Rockstar game, played GTA only to mess around but never enjoyed it; didn't like Bully or any of their other games so never bothered with the first Red Dead; would this game change my mind? trying to be open minded without spending money; but what does this do that their other games didn't?

exactly; most of the old characters were clones; I want Amy, Hwang,Setsuka and Aeon to return. after those we can talk other kinds of characters. Although; I would gladly welcome Patroklos's fighting style to return. He was annoying as a character, but his fighting style was great and a masculine version of Sophitia's.

honestly, besides Hwang, and Aeon, no one is missing really; yeah I want Amy but the rest are just clone characters. SCV had 3 mimic characters. The old games had rock which was just a reskinned Astaroth; Cassandra is just a dumbed down sophitia and etc.
The customization content that was removed was all trash; view the actual list; with the exception of the Lily Armor set for females; the rest was pretty ugly and unused anyway. I much rather have the roster armor sets this...
