Let's not go to handhelds since JRPG will just blow WRPG out of the water on that one. Hell, I don't even think any WRPG developer develops games on handheld.
Anyways, WRPG = bigger world to explore. Mostly open world and lots and lots of freedom. JRPG focus more on the specifics like character upgrades, equipment and definitely battle.
From what I've seen on the demo, it looks like a solid game. Another one added to my collection.
