and just say that sony does decide against this. what then, are they going to risk the wrath of all the major publishers?? who have undoubtably lobbied hard for this.

it's the publishers that want this. the publishers would not make games for microsoft if they were going it alone.. why? because they would know that microsoft would have just commited suicide. and i doubt that they would waste their time and money.

i would only buy a ps4 (if this is true, and this is limited to xbox, which i highly doubt btw) if they had the xbox pad with it. i bought a cross battle adaptor so that i could use a 360 pad with the ps3.
but, just buying a ps4 wont change anything. because this will be on the ps4 as well.
it comes from the publishers. plus, the publishers would not invest millions in making games for a console that will die fast with stupid decisions taken unilaterally like...

i think it explains why hardly any 3rd parties are making games for nintendo.... they haven't implemented this on their console.
whereas this is to become the new standard at the end of 2013 for both sony and microsoft.

for all these lack of core games on the 360 this gen, i can tell you that my 360 has seen more use than my ps3.
so i did i miss the part where microsoft said the xbox1 doesn't play games? from what i could understand from yesterday was, that the xbox1 is a games console with lots of added features.
the xbox1 will get EVERY 3rd party game that sony gets...

the tv stuff was great no doubt. the rapid moving between services was good aswell. and the kinect/skype will be great for using when i speak to my family in the UK.
the console looks like a no nonsense console (looks wise) with a hint of blu-ray player and set-top box.... which it is. buy the looks you can see that microsoft are trying to appeal to a broader market....

if it is all kinect, and sony aren't involved in this drm business. then yes xbox will be in trouble. until then though, it is a little premature to celebrate
