1 - Most of the people that want the backward compatibility in the PS3 (including myself), wants it because the upscalled resolution.
2 - because the massive library that has the PS2 "the best in a console" so this is an important and needed plus, that's why they should keep the 2 skus for the people to choose.
3 - I and so much more people does.... remember that the ps2 is still selling really strong and that's because it's game library.
