Sadly people today think its only the graphics.
Yes the tech they made was amazing but they did use the tech creatively.
The suit powers, map design, enemies, the story and its pretty cool surprises. The infamous Zero -G level. The frozen world aftermath. The epic boss battles. The high octane epic ending.

Story is everything. Very few games in our lifetime had good stories. Original ME trilogy had a god story.
This one did not hold up in story and thus is now in the mediocre group of EA's selections.
In movies the editor is the last filter and controller of the story. Editing is unique to film. Not book and story editing, thats different. Film editing (whether linear or non linear) is unique to film.
In video games, the player is the editor.
