The sad thing was that this game might have done better if Microsoft had positioned it as a cinematic game akin to Heavy Rain or Beyond: Two Souls rather than whatever the hell Quantic Break is. I might have been able to appreciate it as that, if the story could carry it. Trying to sell it as an action game however is going to leave a lot of people disappointed.
One might argue that the original Halo served that exact function before it evolved into the ungodly monstrosity that it became.
It is the slow blade which penetrates.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and Omega Boost from the old PS1 days. Not to mention the original Silent Hill.
I agree with everything you said except the games for Xbox One being better.
But you're right that the games are speaking for themselves.
"Why I've decided not to read your article right now"
Agreed. Not even going to give them the benefit of the doubt and click through.
Nothing to see here folks. Move along.
They set the embargo to expire just before the launch so that bad reviews wouldn't stop people from buying it.
No, I'd be looking at the URL to make sure I was reading Fox News.
Oh, so all we have to do is improve North America's internet infrastructure and the Xbox One will be awesome.
Good, at least it's an easy fix.
Simply put, I do not accept the premise of the article.
That is a clickbait title if ever I've seen one.
Well it's all done through the Smartglass app, so its all Xbox fans. Dissonance reduction is what's making those scores higher than they should be.
Microsoft made the same mistake then, because both were made by FoxConn.
I am shocked and surprised that the Xbone got a higher rating than the PS4. How could this have possibly happened at Polygon?
Sarcastic? Me? Noooooo.
I honestly don't even know where to start disagreeing with you, that's how much trouble I'm having with what you just said. It's staggering, really. I suppose for that you deserve congratulations, of a sort.
Their publishing contract was up. There was no back room deal.
It's actually 2.25, but you're right. Walter, you forgot that it's more screen real estate in two dimensions, not just one. Its an exponential difference.
And that's where your extra $100 per console goes, folks. To pay for flashy stunts.
@PERK7NS: Not to mention the long distance charges to Madeupistan would be crippling.
Agreed. I knew as soon as I saw the timeline of the review embargoes that Ryse was positioned to do the least damage possible to it's sales. I just hope that people know what they're getting when they make their purchases and don't get fooled into it by a marketer.
