I so badly wanted an excuse to get the Wii U. In my opinion, this has been the most underwhelming and sad console launches ever for Nintendo.

As the article touches on. It's a preference. Not all games should be aiming for 60. Killzone:SF will be just fine at 30/1080p. But sometimes... 60fps looks so dang smooth.

They are NOT using an "an entirely new game engine". It's the same engine from current gen but "upgraded".

I understand your point and agree. I partly perceived this as addressing the future though. They won't be $1500 forever, just like HDTV's are very affordable now. They could very well become household items within a few years. Same could be said for tablets.
My opinion is that they need their games(Mario, Zelda, etc) to sell their hardware. I think casual gamers may assume that once Mario games hit tablets, purchasing a Nintendo system would become less likely. Just my opinion is all
I agree, I just think it would be very intriguing to have my HUD on my glasses while playing an FPS, or calling audible plays, or even seeing the play I just selected simulate before the snap in madden. I think there is a number of ways you could implement this. So many just freak out right away without even considering it.
Any evidence to support that?
