It's just very similar to FC4 - which is what I feared. Won't be buying it!
Played all games except Primal (as it’s not as good). I still very much doubt FC5 is excellent.

That’s a matter of taste and opinion, it’s not black or white.
I don’t want or have time to check every game and see if it’s good or not. My first way to filter out the trash is metacritic scores. 88 and above gets my attention, and then I read and watch videos of the game to see if I should buy it.
It has worked very well for me most of the time.
When you get to a certain age you get VERY picky eith your games as you have less time. 80 is good, but still too many games are able to achieve that.
I fear this game would be mediocre. 80 max.

Digital downloads are the future, no doubt about it. Physical game sales will continue to decline.
Regarding Xbox, I think Microsoft keep making strategic mistakes with their products. They're throwing a hail Mary in order to keep their 2nd place slot in this console race, but their end is inevitable: 3rd place, right after Nintendo.

I didn't enjoy Zelda BOTW, Persona 5 or any other game for that matter just like this one.

Graphics matter. I have both PS4 Pro and Switch. The quality gap is significant.
Wile Zelda and Mario are excellent, they can't compete with high-end games like Horizon, GoW and Uncharted.
Because of that gap I can't just get the Switch and ignore the PS4. The Switch can't run most games properly.
I actually love the idea of smaller upgrades. PS3 --> PS4 (big power bump) --> PS4 Pro (small power bump).
I would love to see this with PS5 and PS5 Pro, each released 4 years apart.

PlayStation are doing superbly compared to X1. Nintendo will surely gain 2nd place in this market in 2018.
