I wouldn't say they're as bad, they both release the same amount of games, the difference for Activision comes from never forcing an online pass, even fucking Dead Space 3 had it, which meant I couldn't rent it. Server wise, EA are running on ancient also, and pass the blame if something doesn't work.
If they block games, they'd have to charge less per game, ala PC. Developers wouldn't be too happy, but I can see it happening.
They won't put a baseline price on online play like Live. If this sort of plan goes ahead it'll likely be for additional services, perhaps like Lovefilm.
Silver giving access to some games.
Gold giving access to more games, another service.
Platinum giving access to movies on demand, games, unlimited this & that.
Who knows.
Can it? Yes. Will it? No. GTA is far too established, it's the same as asking if a new IP shooter would outsell COD.
Lets hope they ditch their ancient servers next gen, sick of being unable to finish matches on any EA title.

No disappointments for me, they weren't obligated to show a console, 99.9% of people expected minimal showcasing and a short conference. It was long, detailed and full of interesting facts and games. The social features are fantastic, if you don't want them, don't use them. As for the games;
Knack isn't just for kids, I'm sure if it was Crash you'd say something different ( same style )

Othe people like watching games, as proven by streaming sites, same goes for social media freaks, there are people. I won't be interest in either, but I won't mock the features because I don't like them..

You're comparing something you've physically played, to a compressed video demonstration of an unfinished game almost a year from completion. Ok..
People comparing this to PC games are mentally handicapped. There isn't a PC game out there optimised for this graphical power, because games are still designed for this gen. DMC for example is a brand new game, which looks better on PC, but its still only this gen.. No matter how good your graphics card is.
If MS reveal at GDC, Sony may show the console there too, doubtful, but you never know. Hope to see some groundbreaking things from that event.
