Same here, just emailed Amazon telling them I should get this discount as well having pre-ordered months ago. I fully expect them to reimburse me.

Everything else aside, the one feature I absolutely love about the DS4 is that I can plug in headphones straight to it. Made my jaw drop when I figured out I could do that.

This was a feature that I did not see coming. I didn't understand that we'd be able to stream seamlessly like this. I figured what the share button did was capture short clips so that we could upload it to Youtube or wherever at a later time. Having this feature is pretty amazing and as Ninjavitus said, I can just watch someone play if I'm curious as to how good a game is to see if I want to buy it. No more digging around Youtube.
I know that pain, I stripped mine just by looking at it funny. I ended up using pliers to turn it, stripping more metal off the sides in the process. I believe those screws in the PS3 were made from play-doh.
And it's articles like this that give these attention seeking "artists" the publicity they're after. If people will just ignore these assholes then maybe they'll go away.
It's like how they report gun owners. Millions of gun owners nationwide who don't kill anyone but once someone shoots someone, it's a huge news story. It's just the nature of media. No one is going to read "Millions of PS4s in working order!" But people will pay attention to "Thousands of PS4s DOA!" then blow it up into a bigger situation than it really is.
That's why you preorder with Amazon, you don't pay until it ships.

Amazon doesn't charge until they ship, so they charged me just yesterday. Also, Amazon has a pricing policy in place that gives you a guarantee on the difference back on a product should it lower in price within an amount of time. I bought a $650 monitor last year and the price dropped 40 something dollars 3 days later and I got that difference back.
