For this one instance, I agree. Bringing GOW 1 and 2 in one Blu-Ray, 720p, 60fps, anti-aliasing and all that, it's a lot like the Beatles remasterings. There was more in the developer's studio than there was in the released PS2 game, as mentioned in a recent IGN interview - they built the games to be beyond their target system, and now we get to see the "real thing."

However, if other companies start releasing PS2 games that are no different than their PS2 counterpart...

"I hope Sony accepts this PS4 design and starts manufacturing such cool PS4’s."

Yeah, that's how they make all consoles, you know... just browse the internet for mockups and pick one. Keep hope alive, buddy! The guys who originally posted this at PS3Maven are much better with describing it, and it kinda-sorta makes sense next to a TV on the front... but what about people that want to put the console off to the side? Why have such an expensive touch screen and visua...

Really? Iterating on old engines with slightly new content is a new thing and sad? Nintendo has done that for years with the Pokemon franchise, yet sells them in massive truck-load quantities to this day, and they're still fun.

Maybe this is the beginning of the Microsoft Halo era. Maybe each sequel will not be so mind-blowingly different, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Just different. Since I don't care about Halo, it's no skin off my back.

@Saaking - As much as I used to like IGN, when they started including current systems in their "best 25 consoles of all time" thing, and Xbox360 just so happened to be far up on the list, I kinda lost interest.

@Sonarus - Unfortunately, the answer you're looking for is "Modern Warfare 2."

What the Devil? Doesn't he have three heads in The Inferno? I think they may have mislabeled the video... that or the entire development team did not read the book.

This is what we call psychology flamebaiting. All professions have people that want to get attention by looking "modern" and addressing the problems of today. If you believe this story:

Since you're here, you've played video games, probably at a young age. This means that your brain growth was stunted: http://mentalhealth.about.c...

Also, you may have drank ...

No, it's because Best Buy also sells Apple products. You can make the choice at a Best Buy to buy Windows or OSX-based products now. Been that way for a couple of years...

Geez, Mr. Pope, you're right. This probably was made just to have this posted online somewhere by inflamed Best Buy employees, therefore inflaming geeks across the country.

Still, it bears repeating, why? How does even a small viral campaign increase any sales from Microsoft? People that see this ad and think to themselves "Wow, I need to buy Windows instead of installing Linux" were going to buy Windows anyway! People that know Linux and see this ad will say &quo...

I really don't get what Microsoft is worried about here. People that need advice from Best Buy clerks aren't going to choose Linux. People at Best Buy would be playing a prank on clueless people by having them choose Linux.

The only reason I can think of is that they wanted to do this against Apple, but Best Buy declined due to the fact that they sell Apple products, but not Linux products... because you don't just "sell" Ubuntu.

It's baffling. Is th...

Yes, that's exactly it, Wxer, it's all about respect. Sony did the Ali G "Bookayasha" (or whatever that word is) and Nigeria just nodded. Playin' it cool.

Honestly, people, Sony is just quickly evading a problem that would involve lawsuits, too many lawyers, and a net result of nothing over at least four freakin' years. Why fight about that ad in the first place? Legal fees are killer compared to the cost of changing the ad around... and to tell you the truth, I lik...

Jahcure, that pretty much sums up the whole thing. Some governmental official in Nigeria apparently doesn't use the internet, but he/she knows a good lawyer. How weird.

It's a little funny to hear about PS3 possibly beating the Wii and somehow winning a console war between the two systems that doesn't exist. It's comparing, as previously said, apples to shovels, or a 24-volume life sciences encyclopedia to Twilight.

I see the Wii much more as a toy that gets some upgrades every so often than a PC-esque gaming monster. That's not a bad thing at all, it's a cash machine for Nintendo and a lot of fun, but it doesn't have the depth of a PS3 or 3...

The Dreamcast had some amazing games. Not necessarily generation-defining ones, but definitely fun ones.

However, I'm not interested until Maken X2 comes out.

Well, yeah, but it's more than "butthurt" or angst or something like that. PS3 owners want more people on the Playstation Network. They see all their friends with the Xbox360's and wonder what it would be like to actually play online against them in a round of SFIV, you know?

Exclusives will get more people to buy the system. More people buying the system increases the PSN user base. Also, it insures that more games will be produced for the system and companies won...

The content of the article is good enough, but the wording, that's really stupid. "Paid Beta testers." As a PS3 user, I wouldn't call myself a "paid Beta tester" if a new version of MGS4 was released on 360 way after the release of the previous game. They're just assuming that a few of us lucky people have both consoles, and fans of the game will want to snatch up both. It happens often!

If you agree with the article's assumption, do you also think that ...

Valid, I guess, but there is one distinct advantage to Japanese voice tracks in Japanese games. Generally, a Japanese game is going to have a bigger budget for their own voice-actors than the translation. You'll wind up with better-quality actors reading the original script, not a translation made to fit into the same amount of time. For example, check out the difference between Japanese and English Tidus: h...

This really isn't too much of a big deal in the long run. 13 may have some problems because of the multiplatform thing, but it can't be half as bad as having 2 or 3 team shakeups and weird dissent among the creators the way 12 did.

10 was a bit too linear for its time, but it was still a very well-made game, the same way that gourmet food can include hot dogs and hamburgers if they're done right. I wouldn't mind a somewhat linear game if they do it right, such as telling a we...

Yeah, Raztad, I was talking about the development and the build they had at the studio, not the game in the PS2 box. Read the article. They apparently downscaled for the PS2, especially in the sequel. Read the article.

Read the article.

Yes, that's true I guess, but the Xbox went through its full cycle. I'd rate the Xbox high on that list for Gunvalkyrie and Panzer Dragoon Orta alone!

Bottom line - 1.1 is right. There should not be any current-gen consoles on this list. This console cycle will take longer than usual, and many people think that the PS3 is just starting to come into its own. That's a bit like judging the PS2 based on its first two years in that case. *shudder*

It's also not adv...

Do want. Now.

I can't wait for the US release; PSN is lacking in the classic shmup department, and if this one sells, maybe Treasure will wake up and bring their goods to the Network.
