Really? Iterating on old engines with slightly new content is a new thing and sad? Nintendo has done that for years with the Pokemon franchise, yet sells them in massive truck-load quantities to this day, and they're still fun.
Maybe this is the beginning of the Microsoft Halo era. Maybe each sequel will not be so mind-blowingly different, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Just different. Since I don't care about Halo, it's no skin off my back.

As a PS3 user, I wouldn't call myself a "paid Beta tester" if a new version of MGS4 was released on 360 way after the release of the previous game. For this one instance, I agree. Bringing GOW 1 and 2 in one Blu-Ray, 720p, 60fps, anti-aliasing and all that, it's a lot like the Beatles remasterings. There was more in the developer's studio than there was in the released PS2 game, as mentioned in a recent IGN interview - they built the games to be beyond their target system, and now we get to see the "real thing."
