To those who say that Directx 12 will be obsolete for Xbox One answer these questions for me
1. What are the other features of the API besides Bundles, multicore scalability, etc. that Microsoft hasn't released to the public yet?
2. How much work is each CPU core doing before Directx 12 and once the work is better shared what percentage will each core use?
If you can give me a well thought out answer with numbers that completely contradic...
Good too see the Xbox version holding up once again
That Unreal Engine 4 global illumination :)
Directx has always been the industry leading Application Programming Interface and it doesn't look like this will change anytime soon
What's even more interesting is that games developed using Directx 12's feature set will perform greatly on Xbox One and likely better than the competition
I hope the tiled shading method catches on with other developers and they are able to use one compute shader on each tile too
Ryse is a masterpiece of art
Imagine if Microsoft and Crytek became partners so that Crytek could help with internal projects they'd be a great help showing other studios their techniques
Bring on Ryse 2
I wonder if this game uses Directx 12 in a minimal way
I remember the PC trailer was shown using Nvidia tech and they love Directx 12
Good to see the Xbox One version is comparable with the PS4 version again
Most multiplats look the same with a few exceptions
The Xbox textures often look better like in...
Trials Fusion
Battlefield 4
And some others
It wouldn't be normal if there was no "bad news" article after so much positive Xbox news *sigh* lol
But hopefully this is not a problem
I think Xbox One runs good though mine never gets too hot
And it is very quiet while in use
I have a feeling they won't have enough to win
Microsoft is already showing Halo 5, Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, D4, Halo 2, Fable Legends and Forza Horizon 2
Those are just the givens
If Sony wastes too much time on indies or VR they lose
Lo. Forza looks amazing and has three times the amount of cars to choose from not to mention more cars on the track during a race
I'm even happy with the price drop and I've had the One since launch
It's good to hear that many others will enjoy the great exclusives MS has rolled out already and for what's on the Horizon ;)
I'm excited that the two Phils are going to bring a ton of amazing software to this console
The thing that makes me even more excited is that Spencer says Exclusives are the future of X1 :)
This article is laughable
I believe Microsoft is going to win this E3 just like last year when it comes to what matters the most... Games
I remember waiting up for Sony's conference and being so hyped because I decided to go with the PS4 over the Xbox One solely because of DRM even though I loved what MS showed
I tried two nights in a row to watch the whole Sony conference without falling asleep
I was so disappointed but I did like seeing Final Fantasy and a new ...
Call of Duty will probably sell more but Halo 5 will be the better game, have better graphics, and more innovation
Halo and Gears are the kings of multiplayer fun
No thanks, I like Mario as much as the next man but I need Gears of War, Halo, Forza, etc in my life
I'd hate to be forced to play so many kids type of games that Nintendo offers
As far as Sony goes, they always start console launches off very slow with very limited content
And they usually over-promise (Killzone 2 trailer was supposed to be real-time/We can create Toy Story graphics on PS3) I wouldn't want to be stuck with them eithe...
Microsoft is being smart and catering to the fans, there's nothing wrong with that
Sony has been yelling this "For the players" campaign yet they're losing when it comes to games
Best fighter: Killer Instinct
Best racer: Forza
Best and the funnest open world: Dead Rising 3
Best platformer: Could be debated with Max. Many have said Knack is horrible
Best shooter: Killzone was bad. Halo is coming for that title ...
So Sony is doing bad financially and they come out with a new line of TVs?
Not a smart move
Yes Microsoft misjudged the market when it comes to media demand in the current day and age. Most people have computers, tablets, etc.
But since the launch of the One, MS has brought a healthy stable of great games and has promised many more.
Even the launch titles are some of the best games I've ever played and Microsoft admits those were even rushed products
E3 will show us the true power of Xbox One
The problem is that The Last of Us was fully optimized for the cell architecture and was developed with the spu's managing data.
The PS3 also had an in-order CPU unlike the PS4 which has stalls when the data ends up in the wrong place. The PS3 was better at knowing where things should be
It'll be interesting to see if Sony does other remasters for other titles given the struggle their best studio Naughty Dog had with TLOU.
I agree
Halo 1-4 and Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, Forza Horizon 2 all this year
I love Xbox One
Some people just have to deal with the fact that the games this current gen will look the same
Better numbers on paper doesn't equate to the advantage you want in the case of next gen
There hasn't been one multiplatform game that doesn't look identical on both consoles
