If you go to Capcom japans Platinum titles list you can see the numbers. UMVC3 released as MVC3 and then UMVC3 on PS3/360 then PS3/360/Vita/PC/Xbone/PS4 and it still only sold about 3 million collectively. The FGC destroyed our ability to get more of these games with their whining combines with silly rants about character design as if it couldn't be altered/fixed. And when the complaints was address the FGC moved on to other games and didn't look back.

You should really look at the number directly from Capcom. The Marvel Vs since 2 had barely maintained 2 million copies sold and with UMVC3 with 3 releases made up about 3 million sales across 4 devices. Infinite sold 1.7 million which is actually considered a success by capcom standards. However, that doesn't mean Disney saw it as a success using their titles. Which is probably why the rumors of a new Marvel game being pushed by Netherrealm might be where the franchise is going.
I honestly could've waited another 2 years for a switch, it was fun the first 3 months I was playing pokemon. But, since then it's been in my sons room.
Nintendo pay big to get these puff pieces out there. The difference between a OLED and LCD is pretty good. Vita did this, yet with Nintendo they keep showing they are doing what the Vita did in reverse and people continue to not see it. Nintendo should have given me the option from the beginning. Since then I bought the "Improved" battery Switch and the Lite.
Nintendo can kiss my ass they think I'm buying a 3rd with just a screen replacement.
This place is just human right violation after violation damn
I’ve been playing it the last 2 days and enjoying it. The “controversy” of its reviews is irrelevant to me. I’m looking for to playing with my buds next week, but exploring and having some fun grinding it out. Sometimes it feels a bit mundane with having to walk everywhere but I just unlocked the taxi.
Something that I noticed though is the loading times on the game masked with trains and taxis for a game of this caliber is a bit jarring. Especially since this is supposed ...
I read this after I posted the same observation. Lol
I like how the author injects “pathetic” HDD space as if even though the storage is low the performance of it has been nothing close to pathetic. It’s really important journalist choose their words better as injections like that fuels fanboy flames.
Slayer is all I’m waiting for maimed him since accent core and will forever lol
I’m pretty tired of the genre as well, there are a ass load of old European settings and I’ve played my fill. And considering the ol time British is also used in cyberpunk anime’s, movies as well. It is what it is
Not looking forward to that, kinda tired of hearing ol timey British English in RPGs.
@Banthis see the problem with that is, I have played plenty of games that have made me feel that way but I just moved along. Assassin Creed games, Elder scroll games and plenty of MMOs never made it for me. And that’s okay.
Not every game is meant for me.
DF has been getting less and less of my clicks lately. They don’t seem to have a genuine focus. The goalpost that get moved on what is a good experience has grown alarming. And I don’t really blame them fully but their legacy of trying to pick clear cut winners is what’s created this fault.
I have a hard time taking their perception of good tech as just THEIR view.
It really turned more into a world building/system building sim. And it was super simple yet effective. I typically get overwhelmed with games like that because I think of how much is about to happen.
Yet while playing this game, I was really enjoying it. The intense moments with the spirits and first avoiding them to fighting back with insane results. The babies were insane and frequently had me questioning what I was doing.
And the interactions with pe...
I put 120 hours into it
It's cool Kurt, it's just a matter of perspective. I won't discount the collective amount as 9 million with all versions and seperate releases is still 9 million. But, pitting a version that is 1 version across the board and no need to buy additional skus is a point Capcom views.
SFV is clearly a mass success for the SF franchise as an individual release. And, the thought process that it was a dude with the amount of support is a bad rumor in gaming news. If 1 ...
You should look at the list again from capcom on their platinum games. And understand that Street fighter 4 did not sell 9 million from capcoms direct figures. It sold 3.4 million.
And this is a declaration of what is successful for capcom not me or you. But from their own investors page:
“In the home video game market, sales of more than one million units is the generally accepted standard for a major hit. Since Capcom's inception, we have created ma...
I’m going to put something out there. Soul Calibur 6 shipped 2 million on three devices. And it’s considered a success. SFV sold 5.5 million copies on 2 platforms now the second highest selling street fighter.
Somehow the gaming community has convinced itself SFV was a failure. Let that sink in

A link to the past is the apex of Zelda for me. If they could make a 3D remake of that I would buy it in a heartbeat
SFV actually sold over 5 million with 1 standalone release. They consider it to be the most successful Street Fighter next to 2 and it's possible it can still overtake 2.
UMVC3 on PS4 and Xbone sold 1.1 million copies with the 360/ps3 copy selling 1.2. So they essentially sold to the same exact people. MVC3 vanilla which REALLY left a bad taste in peoples mouths sold 2.2 million. The decline on MVC titles is real and ultimately more then likely barely profitable for a ...
