Well said man, bubbles!
@Captain Tuttle
Though I like the gameplay of western rpgs (the open world of Oblivion is fantastic) their stories are VERY predictable. Story is the MAIN ingredient to an RPG because without a story, why fight? Oblivions main story is really nothing new, has no twists or shocks and the ending doesn't really do much except saying things along the lines of "Congratulations" Mass Effect though brilliant, but I could see where the story was going very quickly and saw the e...
LMAO!!!!
You've got to be kidding me!!! I hope this is untrue because this game has perks, which you need experience points to get, which you can now buy! So much for online multiplayer being based on skill...
No purchase for me, I'll just wait for Resistance 2 and Bioshock.
The Wii is too big a phenomenon (like the Ipod) so no there's no way in hell that the 360 will outsell it, but that should be obvious to anyone with half a brain.
I agree with what you said that the 360 will probably outsell the PS3 in North America. However what about:
Europe?
Canada?
Australia?
Asia?
If the PS3 sells more in those countries/territories it really won't matter.
Actually you're wrong.
lol you obviously didn't watch the whole video.
Hell yeah! One of my most anticipated games this year! Hour 1 purchase lol
It better come out in the UK quickly since it was bloody made there!
FINALLY, someone coming out with some common sense! It's hard to find intelligent individuals on N4G these days. BUBBLES. Hopefully I'll bump into you on PSN.
DRM exists because of piracy, not the other way round. It's just unfortunate that paying customers get hit in the process.
omg I can just see it now:
PATIENT: You called me down here, so what's the verdict?
DOCTOR: Well I've got some good news and some bad news.
PATIENT: Uh oh.
DOCTOR: Well the bad news is you're manhood's just turned green and is about to fall off and become totally useless. On the bright side, the good news is you've just won a Wii with Wii music! Congrats!
I used to be that way too, but now I'm a bit more careful with my money and will only buy a film if I intend to watch it really soon or only buy a game that I intend to finish and only if I have finished a lot if not all the games I currently own. It makes it a more fulfilling experience that way and makes you appreciate the media which you are using more.
You're right about the truly innovative games selling poorly, but unfortunately that's the consumers fault. Game devs won't go out on a limb to make imaginative games that are truly different if it doesn't sell as it'' cost them too much. Ico was stunning and so was Shadow of Colossus but compare those sales of the game to Halo 3 or Gears of War. It seems that most consumers (not me though) just want more of the same with just prettier graphics and a few more options so they have no one to bl...
The thing is if everyone wants brilliant graphics and a long-ass game this generation you have to be willing to wait an AWFUL long time for it. Look how long FFXIII is taking and even Killzone 2 took awhile to be finished (and I'm not sure how long that games single player's meant to be). Are you prepared to wait that long for every game? Oblivion is an exception, but then again it wasn't built for the current gen consoles.
I think this is the main reason why I don't actually ca...
I fully agree with Indigo Cyclops (Bubbles)! COD4 was 5-6 hours and that was good atmospheric game. I didn't touch the multiplayer because simply all you do is kill different people again and again and again with no reason or story. Repetitive as hell if you ask me. Now as I'm getting older, I want a good story or at least a good atmosphere (like The Darkness) in a game as incentive to keep playing not fragging millions of foes forever. (Traded Unreal Tournament 3 within a month as I thought ...
Damn, what about the people who spent a crap load of money on Vista recently?
That's why I'm a Ubuntu man from now on!
QFT!
It makes me laugh when some people say piracy on the PC doesn't cost companies that many software sales because if it didn't do you think companies would've wasted their time with this DRM crap? It is sad that paying customers have to get shafted because of a few idiots. It isn't fair. With the rising cost of game development, companies are trying everything in their power to recoup their costs and gain profit.
Unfortunately, I see where this is going to go. With piracy on the incr...
The guy should be hanged just for looking like a prick!
As for your comment, after all the shootings and other crimes (and there's a HUGE list) that that people in America blame on video games, your statement really does not hold any water.
Wow, you're mum must be very proud.....
The funny thing is, when they introduce damage, if the damage screws up the handling of the cars how much do you want to bet that the majority of people won't use it? Imagine doing a 40 lap endurance race only to have a collision on the 38th lap and your currently in 1st place. Your steering goes then you find out there's no way you can even finish the lap in a decent position. Also, multiplayer on the beginner online races are crazy. Some people just crash into you on purpose like it was a b...
