Gotta say, there is a big difference in tone to the petition about Diablo III colour and SC2 LAN.
The D3 people were emo whiners, this is more founded in proper arguments and logic. I mean SC1 become big through LANs, isn't it a little like ignoring your roots?

I mean only reason why ICCUP exist is because the old battle.net, especially for SC1 is crap and laggy.
With support and patches through the fabulous ad deal they got with M$ now, Battle.net 2.0 will blow ICCUP out of the water without calling a single lawyer!

It's not fake. Rob PArdo, the VP of Game development said exactly those words. There will be no lan.
They later confirmed with additional e-mail to the sites at the press conference that were not in the same interview, that there will be NO LAN.
