Well, most great game makers start out indie. Yes, Blizzard was one such indie, and I agree with you (as you can see on my previous post, below).
It's not the be all end all though.
So true. I mean almost all the absolutely brilliant games are originally indie one.
Then one or two, very rare companies manage to sustain that vein and make great games continuously (*cough* Blizzard *cough*), but they are just the exception that confirms the rule :)
