The title of the article should be "Sony's best franchises not enough to beat the Pokemon fanboys". :D

The only advantage the 3DS have over the Vita is the gap between their release.

Well I have to say that the pirates helped the PSP to reach 70 million units sold, but also destroyed the faith of the western developers for the said system.

LA Noire can put the Vita's features in to good use. But I really want a GTA that is set on San Andreas. And I want another Manhunt game. Last on my list is RD for Vita.

3DS will always have the support of Japanese, same as any Sony console. 3DS was in a pinch but thanks to the price drop it has recovered. To be honest there are few games that I'm interested on the 3DS. My will-be-favorite 3DS game are Beyond the Labyrinth and Bravely Default. So if I'm gonna buy a 3DS it is not because of Mario, Zelda, Pikim, or Pokemon. I hope Ninty will squeez as much support from 3rd party devs. Not a big fan (anymore) of their 1st party games.

You lost me at that Vita got only 2 worthy titles at launch. Gravity Daze is promising, and LBP and ModNation Racers looks tighter because of the PS3 like PSN service the Vita is getting. UMvC looks well also.

And you have a point about the price being right then people would buy it, still games are the reason why a system sells. Ninty can price the 3DS for about $50 but without games I don't think people would go for it if they'll just release ports of DS and N64 ti...

The 3DS is not worth the $250 during its launch. First there were no compelling games during launch. If there is one, it's a remake and for most people that is not a good sign, plus the specs of 3DS is now worth $250 imo, its a rip-off. But if they have launch MGS 3D, RE: Revelations and throw in a Pokemon game then it I could have conclude that its a must buy system at launch.

Let's go to Vita, when Vita was announced and Sony showed its specs and features people hop...

Smartphone vs. Dedicated portable gaming device again? I just hope Rockstar would announce GTA V on the 2nd for the Vita so we can end this nonsense debate about Vita/3DS against Adroid/iOS devices.

Would you still like it and buy it if Sony put a $800 price tag on it?

Vita got a touchscreen, so even if it can fit right in my pocket, I wouldn't do that 'cause no portable device w/ a touchscreen will be ever safe inside a pocket. Every "portable" devices like tablets, smartphones, and even the 3DS were not designed to be kept inside a pocket.

Sony must keep this system secure as long as they can from hackers to keep the western developers interested in the system. Still, Sony have a stable of great first party developers and got a great support from Japanese developers.

So lightning can do strike twice at the same spot. :))

If they got the money then why not? I'm a video gamer and collector specially of PlayStation systems. Vita will be a very nice addition for my collection.

And again let us use our common sense, it certainly means 63% of PS3 owners who responded to the survey will also buy a Vita. I didn't answered to that survey, did you?

That's for Japan, and they say at launch, so eventually they'll support it.

In the US, according to the official Vita FAQS posted in the official PlayStation site, they said that the Vita will be able to play PSone titles, but no plans yet for PS2 and even PS3 titles.

So if someone imported a Japanese unit, he/she can still download PSone classics from the US PSN.

If EVER Ready at Dawn decided to release a God of War title in iPhone 4 or iPhone 5, that is the day where it will become apparent that smart phones sucks as a dedicated gaming device. Imagine Kratos moving on rails and the player can only control his attack on the touch screen.

HD > 3D, plus the fact 3D uses lesser resolution than HD. 3D is just an effect, that's it. And with the scale of MGS3, good luck playing it on a small screen display of 3DS. Good luck against The End. ;)

The Vita version looks much crispier than the PS3 version maybe due to the screen size. The pixels are more packed in the OLED screen. BUt I think I need that external battery pack because MGS is known for lengthy codec and cut scenes.

Phones doesn't have face buttons. It will suck playing CoD on it (if it ever get released on smart phones). Like Infinity Blade who boasts an impressive visuals but a bummer to play because of the movement is on rails.

I can feel the magic of gaming once again. Thanks to Level 5.

I hope in the final build they would fix the frame rate and I really hate how the Chimera explodes like Lego blocks. Even if they got struck in the neck with an axe they still explode in that way. The visual is good for a portable gaming machine, with a little more polishing it may look solid upon teaching the release date.
