Birds of Steel? Aww, I was hoping for Blades of Steel...
I recommend reading the whole thing; it's more about removing the tedium than it is doing anything about the challenge of the game. That is, preserving the difficulty while removing the tedium.
In other words, "Dead Meat."
Delightful! All the joys of playing at an arcade, without the need to stand!
Nice... I wish my system could run L4D2.
I bet this doesn't apply in Canada.
I only go for used if I can't find it new, anyway.
Frank was cool, Chuck seems alright, but the two of them together? That sounds pretty awesome.
After being called "irrelevant" and other such things dating back to his being a 90's fixture, it looks as though Duke is muscling his way back into the spotlight, doesn't it?
I thought Sofia from Tekken was their mascot? Or Crash Bandicoot? Or Lara Croft? Or... or I lost track.
"Mascot" doesn't seem to be a position with much job security at Sony.
Great piece. I've always loved DKCountry, though I didn't care for them phasing out Donkey and eventually Diddy before DK64, which I admittedly did not play much.
I did love Jungle Beat, though, from the moment I tried it at the Nintendo World Store. It's essentially the Super Mario Bros. 2 or Sunshine of the series.
That's Hollywood for you, I guess.
Well, not really. Seems like video games are more of a driving force for technology that Hollywood rides on the coattails of, like with DVD and such.
I guess if 3D ever becomes enough of a commodity that they can bring down the price, it will be because of gamers.
Eh, I don't know. The occasional 3D movie or ride is okay, but I guess I'll have to see how it is in gaming for myself before I get all excited.
Might be neat if you actually get to see a bullet or something rushing straight at you before it hits you between the eyes, though.
Things which may or may not have been heard during this portion of the event:
"Uh, excuse me, can I get by? There are games which need to be covered."
"At least this didn't come out of any game's budget, right?"
"Well, this has convinced me to get an Xbox."
"What are all these girls doing here? They're just getting in the way!"
Funny, I was thinking "Friend Code," for some reason, but that's the wrong company. :P
Anyway... uh, "X marks the spot," I guess?
Yeah, it's hard to argue their chops for making cool animation, but I find it harder and harder to get into the actual games.
Funny, then, that their movie studio business didn't seem to take.
I know what you mean.
Kind of. They're all so different, anyway, and it seems as though the spin-offs have more continuity (so to speak) than the numbered titles.
I don't care much about gaming online. However, if this had a better system for it, I might care more. Funny how that works.
Consoles do seem to feel more and more like PCs without the kind of ease-of-use that keyboards and mice provide. Of course, 360 and PS3 do have those little keyboards which mount on the controller... those always seemed a little small, but are they practical for this?
At least the Wii Remote makes a decent substitute for a mouse (I'm assuming the PS Move as well, but I've not spent enough time with one to know; the people at the Sony Store couldn't seem to be arse...
