The only way I would pass on this game is if it didnt have the rediculously high levels of enjoyment, entertainment value, originality and endless replayability.

Generally most titles are, as im pretty sure the usual day for US releases is Tuesday, whereas from what ive heard, its Friday in EU (please correct me if im mistaken). Its Thursday down here in Aus.
Why should they have done that? You realise the word Fallout references nuclear devestation? Correct me if im wrong, but there is no nuclear weaponry in the Elder Scrolls universe.
If devs went by that saying, nothing would ever progress that way. Graphics wouldnt improve, there would be little to no innovation, stories would be predictable and full of clichés and overused environments and settings, and we would probably get rushed sequel games every year in an annual installments.

You know there is no one definitive 'game of the year'? More than one game can win an award like that, becuase nearly every single publication does its own GOTY Awards, with all staff feeling differently about different games and giving awards to different ones. GOTY isnt a fact or anything, its s group of peoples collective opinions usually based on a voting system.
Fun fact: he has only ever ONCE (yep, thats 1 single time) been right about predicting how well a game will sell. With Spider Man 1 or 2 back on the Xbox and PS2. The man knows nothing.
