Not at all. There have already been about two or three other articles made about the same topic. It all started when the media took a developer from Bioware's quote way out of proportion.
Japan will always be important to gaming! There are tons of people who love their games. It's the media that demands something new from their games. As long as they keep making them, we'll keep buying (and loving) them. As someone has already pointed out, Japanese games were never really big sellers in the west (with the exception of some). I mean, there are still a ton of great JRPGs coming out this year and I've seen a lot of excitement for them.

I would throw in the Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer and the first Birth by Sleep trailer.

It's a shame really. Utada Hikaru's vocals have become one of the hallmarks of the series. I can't imagine Kingdom Hearts without her.

Definitely pleased with the Birth by Sleep score. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I expect Nomura to announce a western release date sometime soon.
My favorite franchise is the Tales series. I think Tales of Vesperia was a terrific addition to said series. It wowed me with its beautiful visuals, addicting combat, charming world, and wonderful characters. I love it so much I'm willing to repurchase the game once again but for the PS3 just so I can experience all the new content it has received. I'm also excited to play Tales of Graces for the Wii. Still waiting for a western release for both of these games.
