It'll work now but Sony has stated that they might put a minimum speed cap in the public release of the firmware. This would be the ideal way to go because every PS5-exclusive game will be made with the internal SSD read speed (5.5GB/s) in mind. In the future, AAA games will most likely take advantage of the maximum capability of the internal SSD which can only be matched by an equivalent or faster NVMe SSD.

It does require getting used to after holding down the home button for turning off the PS4 and XBox One, right? But I guess it won't take long.

That said, they've added HDMI-CEC support in the last update which allows us to both turn on and turn off the TV along with the PS5 so at least that's one added convenient point!

I think the major issue here would be 120fps support. Your monitor is very likely unable to accept 4K 120Hz signal due to lack of HDMI 2.1 so for 120fps games, you're going to be stuck with 1080p 120Hz.

If you checked the file name of the video, you will see the resolution as well which is confirmed to be 1080p. Why they didn't flat out say it's running at 1080p @ 120fps? My guess it's just not to appear underpowered compared to the faster consoles. Despite the Series S may be running on One S version of the game as opposed to enhanced One X version, the framerate boost is a much-welcomed feature for fans, I think.

I kinda like the white color but Dbrand is coming out with skins for the PS5 and you can pretty much go all black on the console if you want to since the skin covers the whole area. I'm going with dark mahogany.

I admit, I chuckled at first because it is funny to some people (especially non-LGBT people) but then I realised that LGBT people have been beaten and killed in recent times simply because of their sexuality which led me to feel that this gag was done in poor taste.

Good read! He sure likes to say "ultimately" a lot though.

I think it's the same across Southeast Asia. Sony announced the same thing for Malaysia. Can't wait!

I totally understand where you're coming from because I'm a graphics whore (which is why I game on PS4 and PC) but since I play a lot of online multiplayer first person shooters with a surround sound headset, the idea of 3D audio is really exciting to me. It's a much-welcomed innovation particularly for the eSports crowd because it provides another level of immersion where you can tell the location of your enemy vertically as well as compared to right now where it's either lef...

It's real. I didn't say the tech demos were ray-tracing on a single PS3 though. Nor was it for gaming.

The game looks very promising but for the intended target audience (who are generally adults), if they're interested to play this game, they're more likely to either buy both next-gen consoles or simply get it on PC while owning a PS5. rather than choosing between Xbox Series X or PS5.

I myself belong to the latter group. I just hope my GTX 1070 can keep up when it launches.

I still remember the tech demos and interview about the chip supposedly being able to render graphics and RAY TRACING in real-time. Mind you, this was in 2005. It was THAT fast.

While I sympathize with my fellow Xbox and Pc gamers for missing out on the Spider-man PS4 experience, I do think the sequel should not be a multi-platform game. It should and will stay a PlayStation exclusive for a number of reasons:
1. Spider-man PS4 was an awesome game because it was made by Insomniac, which is now a 1st party studio under Sony.
2. Spider-man PS4 was a graphical marvel because the developers only had to tune it for 2 machines of similar design and archite...

I had the same impression but after I turned off the motion blur and film grain, the game looks better and more realistic. Still wasn't as nice as the campaign trailers but MP modes usually look worse than Singleplayer. And plus, it's just an alpha for 2v2. I think the fans can make a better judgment when the MP beta comes out in September.

2026 - Microsoft announces that Xbox will no longer focus on making console hardware after Xbox Nova series (Scarlet & Anaconda). Will start to publish first-party studios games under Xbox Games (a new game publishing division) on Windows PC, Xbox Stream (codename Project xCloud), PlayStation Now, PlayStation 5 and 6th gen PlayStation (codename Zeus).

The future of Xbox is ubiquity. Halo Infinite Spartan Edition will be released on PlayStation 5.

I never understood why PS Plus subscription in US and Europe is so expensive. In Southeast Asia, a year is only RM 129 / THB 1130 / SGD 43.90. That's about 32-35 US dollars. We get the same free games and perks (although sometimes 1 or 2 games may differ).

The Order 1886 was the first game this generation that had my jaw floored. It was absolutely beautiful as if you're playing a CG movie. It set the bar for this generation's graphics for me and to be honest, the visuals of God of War 4, Uncharted 4 and Horizon Zero Dawn still does not look as pristine as this game. Granted, these games were designed with bigger open spaces (requires more processing) but purely from a visual standpoint, The Order 1886 takes the cake. I finished the game...

That's a pretty dumb statement. Devs has the ability to develop on any platform they want to because of the nature of dev tools these days being so similar to one another thanks to the PC-based architecture. Pretty sure Sony Santa Monica can pull off the same quality on PC if God of War was meant as a multi-platform game.

Hells yeah! I loved The Order 1886. I know critics wasn't all too fond of it but for me, it was definitely a solid early PS4 game. The graphics blew everything that was available on consoles at the time (seriously, I had to pause every level just to marvel at the graphics using the photo mode), the gameplay was fun and the lore definitely had a lot of potential. I was so ready for the sequel when the game ends with *SPOILER ALERT* Galahad turning rogue from the corrupted Order of Knights....

Hands down, the worst game ever for me is the BMX XXX. Even Dave Mirra himself didn't want to be associated with the game which was initially developed as Dave Mirra BMX 3. I loved the first 2 Dave Mirra BMX games and when BMX XXX came out, it was like a slap to my face. It encapsulated everything that is wrong within the 'dudebro' culture and cranked up the misogyny to 11. Admittedly, I bought the game anyway despite knowing its inappropriate content (I was going through puberty ...
