Well seeing as the Ps3 got most of its hate because of its price and that it was a bitch to develop for, I'd say probably not. So far ive heard that its actually easy to develop for and the price was surprisingly decent.

im renewing mine. i find it to be well worth the yearly subscription fee. especially with the newly added features.
the same could be said for pc gaming. the screenshots for that never look as good as the game playing. i thought the gtaIV graphic mod looked really good so i looked up videos and it didnt look nearly as good as a still image of it.
maybe that doesnt bother people... like me.
pc games have been fun for me, but console gaming just feels better to me. if you really only go back to play games for graphic mods then you are really proving the point that pc gamers care for nothing but graphics. with a graphic mod its still the same game you have played before.

Id reccomend playing 1 through 3 first. 1 is on the PS store and 2 and 3 are coming out this fall in the hd collection pack. I guess you COULD play this game without playing the other games first but the amount of nostalgia and emotional build up that you experience through the first 3 games separates playing mgs4 as a game, and as the epic ridiculously awesome experience and conclusion to a very very awesome series. trust me on that one.....
