The listed requirements are not that high. Anyone who bought their computer in the past 3-4 years should run it ok.

Do they really need all the codecs though? some of those are pretty preachy and have little to do with advancing the plot.
The huge sucess of steam is testament to it. Competitive pricing and consumer friendly DRM, with a huge game library. Steam is the model consoles of the future will follow.
i bought lost odyssey not long ago and ever since ive been scouring the bargain bins for jrpgs. Picked up FFX and grandia 2 and gonna get rogue galaxy and odin sphere, blue dragon and maybe enchanted arms if i can find it.
How am i gonna finish em all before the new 360 games release though!

I bought this game on the weekend and am on disk 2. ill buy this dlc day 1. Lost odyssey has shown me that not all JRPGs suck as much as i remember. Gonna pick up blue dragon when im done with this

Some of the appeal of WoW is that it will run on your 5 year old crap box just fine. this will alienate some consumers.

It depend on what cpu/gpu you currently have.... Onboard graphics but ok processor? GPU 8800 Ultra but a celeron? CPU
But most games are more graphics than processor dependant these days.
If they pull some 90% cutscene 10% gameplay it would suck but if its a 60/40 split and you can skip them its no so bad.
