Why would a company, say, pioneer
want to join toshiba in making hd-dvd players. first they have to do research and development on the player, than they have to price the player at a loss to compete with toshiba.

thats the only reason microsoft supports hd-dvd, so it will slow down blu-ray adoption until their digital distribution is up and running around the world. you don't think they're behind hd-dvd for their merits do you?

i read on the ps3 home forum 2 months ago that the next home beta opening will be in late nov/early dec so it would fit this rumour.
im actually glad they added this option. if you're running out of space on your 20gb drive maybe its a sign you should upgrade your harddrive or delete old demos/trailers.

they forgot to mention that 97000 was on the week that had limited availability since its official launch was oct 30.
also counting cutting off the date on the 27th, ratchet only had 5 days of sales since it was released prematurely on the 23rd.
so we take 97000/5days and we get roughly 19400 each day on average.
take something like halo 3, 143000/7 since its been released before, and you get roughly 20400.
