That doesn't prove anything. It doesn't prove me wrong.
If that demo was poorly optimized because the dev wasn't familiar with eSRAM, PIX helped show them how to better utilize it... yielding a 15% performance gain.
But, if the eSRAM was utilized properly in the first place... PIX wouldn't have done anything for it.

Consoles are much different than PC. Consoles already have APIs that allow them to code very efficiently, what people call "to the metal".
This is why it won't help Xbone. It is already very efficient.
This isn't war, but this is business competition. Every PS4 sold is likely a lost potential Xbone sale. So, it does indeed matter. Sure, some people will buy both systems, but most people do not.
Even though it is "close" in the US, MS is still failing. MS is an American company, this is their home territory. 360 dominated PS4 in the USA last year (48 million to 29 million). MS is an American company, their home territory. Now they are losing, which is wh...
Great business strategy. Wait 9-10 months in the year to strike. This strategy won them 2 months last year in the console war - in the US only.
I hope they realize that strategy isn't going to work. Sony is still trouncing them worldwide nearly 2-to-1.
So, 9-10 months out of the year?
Got one for $60 due to price mistake. Weeeeeeeeeee.
#1. Most people don't play their PC games on their TV.
#2. If the last time you bought a monitor was more than a few years ago, it won't support 1080p.
#3. OS needs upgraded every few years as well. You could stretch it a long time possibly.
So, you can't simply ignore those things like you are trying.
His notion isn't silly. If you want to use the price of a used PC. Then you should compare it to a used PS4.
So, he needs to build a $280 PC.
No shit, conveniently ignoring around a $100 for mouse, KB and OS.
Also you generally have a monitor for your PC. So that as well.
Uh 75 is a C or worse every grading system I've seen. It is an average score. It is low for TLOU.
Dark true gamers want the truth. But the guy isn't wrong. You see it everyday here on NFG. Fan boys don't want the truth, the want negative crap about the systems they don't own. They want The Order to fail. They want Halo to fail.
Sorry Dark, can't agree. Games can get 10/10.
I don't think it has to be perfect to get a 10 either. You would dock points for RDR because e draw distancecould be improved? That is kind of ridiculous.
Also your argument that any game could be made better with better tech? What does that have to do with anything? You work with what you got and that is what the grade should be based on. You can't say "well the graphics would have been bet...
I've never heard any Sony fanboys say the 2 systems are equal hardware wise.
So, I wasn't the only one who thought that.
Apparently I'm the only one not impressed by this. Seems corny. Outdated graphics.
I'll never go digital due to pricing and no selling of used games.
Usually I buy games on sale $40 or less. Then when I'm done with them I can sell them and get at least half my money back. So, in the end I really only pay $20 or less.
You can't get anywhere close to that buying a fairly new game digital.
So what was the real quote? Original article is in Italian?
We don't even know how teams will work, so your arguments may not even apply.
PC games aren't held back by consoles (maybe ports). PC games are held back because there are millions of configurations of hardware to deal with. It isn't easy to optimize.
Most people don't have gaming machines, so developers are going to go with what is compatible. They aren't going to go intensive for the few people that have $3000 machines. Plus, it takes a lot of development to get those minor improvements. It isn't a good trade-off.
Please read your own article for an understanding of what the PIX tool actually does, which backs up what I said and what Brad Wardell said himself.
All PIX does is analyze and debug your code. It helps point out your flaws so that you can fix them or find an alternate way. It doesn't just give you a boost. It is a tool to make a dev's life easier. It doesn't do anything you couldn't have done before with hard work.
