Thanks for the great article. While I know quite a number of people will claim that Cyberbullying is a joke, that it doesn't have the impact people claim it does, or that people are pansies, it's not quite as simple as many make it out to be.
At my age I can take a lot of verbal abuse because I just don't care. But for someone my daughter's age, that has a great impact on her.
Again, great article. Thanks for sharing.
For the most part I agree with you, but I disagree about Monster Hunter being an RPG. I've played it and it's no where near an RPG in my opinion. An Action/Adventure game, sure. RPG? No.
But with that disagreement out of the way, I'd love to see Dragon Quest VII brought out for download. Final Fantasy XII would also see good success for re-release (after all they're bring X back for the Vita, why not XII too?) Dragon Quest VIII, Champions of Norrath, Return to...
Unfortunately at this time, there is no difference between the digital media and physical media. Why bother buying digital? No Collector's Editions (which is nice for soundtracks in particular for me). No pre-order bonuses (which is debatable to it's worth).
For me the biggest drawback is that I can pay over time with GameStop on games that I know I want day 1. Makes it easier than dropping $60+ at one time.
Not to sound rude, but how is that any different than the multitudes of sites with 360 fans that act the exact same way when it comes to PS3 owners?
Unfortunately I often see more 360 fans bashing PS3 fans than I see the reverse. Granted, it all depends on what sites you frequent as to what you come across.
In the end it doesn't matter if you have the 360 or the PS3 or the Wii only, or if you have 2 of the 3 or even all 3. Whatever makes you happy, doesn&...
As with anything else, that's what it boils down to. Personal perception of the value of the product. Nicely said.
Both systems have their strong points and their weak points. Both systems will have their fanatics and their fans. Both have strong exclusives. Unfortunately most of the multi-platform games tend to have less problems on the 360 than the PS3.
I have both systems, but I get 6 times more use out of my PS3 than I do my 360 and lately I just haven't seen anything from MS that I want right now. I'm not a big Halo fan. I want to get Gears 3 but not being an individual who i...
I've only gotten 1 free gold trial from MS.
I rarely use my 360 and I rarely play online, so there's no point for me to pay for Live Gold. Even if I could get a year for $12.
I do use my PS3 quite a bit and I did pick up the PSN +. I've gotten a few games for free. Some were good, some weren't and some were classics.
For the most part I don't really care for online gaming. I don't mind it with a few friends, but overall I'd prefer to play solo rather than online.
The bulk of online is FPS which is hard for me to enjoy since a brick wall has better skills than I do. :D I did play FF XI online for a few years, but after a while it was time to leave. WoW only lasted a few months. Just really don't care for online play. Perhaps one day I'll enjoy it more.
I've been gaming for 30 years. I haven't always enjoyed some of the changes. Took me years to tolerate voice acting in games. But regardless of whether I liked the changes or not, they're here and gaming is still my biggest passion.
I loved FF XIII myself. From what I recall about the XIII fuss in my little corner of the net is that most of the fans were miffed because 1) it'd gone multi-platform 2) there were no towns or NPCs to interact with 3) it was too linear for them.
I wasn't really sure how well it was received in Japan. I know people were saying it dropped in price fairly quickly though.
I'm looking forward to the sequel though :)
Actually I'd prefer to see more original titles instead of sequels, prequels or remakes.
I really want to know what the deal with Final Fantasy Versus XIII is and if we'll get Type 0 here.
/shrug/ Could be worse I reckon.
It's a bit on the interesting side that Famitsu gave Final Fantasy XIII a score of 39/40 yet it's probably one of the most heatedly debated games out there.
The sequel FF XIII-2 has a perfect score. Makes me wonder what this will bring after it releases here in January. I know there's some heated conversations on it now :)
I know with lists like this, there's never enough room to list everything, nor will everyone agree with what's there. I didn't play most of the games on there, but definitely agree with Dungeon Siege III and Two Worlds II. I had hoped they'd be worth playing and I just couldn't get into them.
But I'd also add F.E.A.R. 3 and Hunted: The Demon's Forge to the list.
I enjoyed the trailer. Infinite is one of my "To Buy" games. Looks very interesting and I'm very curious to see how the story unfolds.
I've actually beaten Final Fantasy VII twice. The last play was a year ago. I had to force myself to play the game a second time. (I won't go into the reason why I played it a second time.) I just never cared for some of the characters. The story itself wasn't bad, I just can't stand Cloud or Sephiroth. I didn't like the Materia system. I didn't like how the characters were drawn. Even when I first played the game back in 1998, I didn't care for it. But then I star...
It's kind of hard to write about something you haven't experienced for yourself. At the time I wrote my review of Skyrim those issues were not known and at this stage I have yet to encounter anything game breaking as others have claimed. You can't mislead anyone when something isn't known at the time.
If I were to write the review today, I could easily add in experiences of others as being well known issues.
I enjoyed reading your post. Having read it, I can take a little from it in an effort to improve my own review writing process. Namely the aspect of pointing out flaws. Or at least aspects that others might find to be flaws.
One thing about flaws and lack of innovation is that both fall under opinion for the most part. Sometimes a flaw may not be experienced by one reviewer or it may come very late in the game. Some reviewers may not get to it before their review has to be in...
I don't know if I'll be writing reviews here, but I know I'll be writing them for PlaystationEdge.com. So far all 3 of the ones I've written there were submitted here (but I didn't know that until yesterday).
I actually look forward to having some criticism on what I write. Even at it's worst, I can take something from what's said to improve my writing. I know there's no way to please everyone.
I wrote this little blog in part ...
Being someone who did his own review for Skyrim, I can tell you that I did not copy and paste someone else's review, especially not for a version of the game I did not play. I write for a relatively small site, and I don't get advanced copies of games. I don't make very much money writing reviews yet, so I have no reason to lie about my experience to get more money for writing the review. I write from my own gaming experience, never someone else's.
I just got ...
I think your link is broken. Keeps telling me that the article is unavailable.
Otherwise for the topic, as long as they don't push the games out just to push them out then it's definitely got great potential to be a great 4 part series.
