I enjoyed reading this short article that you shared. I don't know if you are the author or not, but either way thank you for sharing.
I am a writer for a small site. I enjoying writing from my own perspective and my own experiences. Small sites do sometimes mirror the bigger sites, but not all of us are into all the doom'n gloom or bashings that some places are fond of.
I know there were a few on the PS2 that made it to the US. There was a 4 part series that was on the PS2. Past that I'm not sure which other ones made it to the US.
A new .hack would be nice. I hope that if it is true that it comes to the US. Need more JRPGs. Love my Western RPGs too, but so few JRPGs make it to the US any more. (Not that many ever came here to start with sadly.)
If you read the actual article the title has Preview/Review in it. I don't know why I didn't add the Preview part to it here. It's a bit of both.

Since FFXIII-2 is already out in Japan, the demo is pretty indicative of the final game. However this is not a review of the over all game itself. But more of a preview.
I know a lot of people online who hate FF XIII. Some are curious though as to how XIII-2 is different than XIII. I wrote this in an effort to convince some of my friends to try out the demo and perhaps even others who might be on the fence about the game.
Looks like an interesting device, but also looks like it would not be comfortable to play. Kind of bulky or unwieldy.
Think I'll stick to my consoles and portables.
"Wait... what? How do you like the story but don't care for the whole reason of its existence? Well whatever, you admitted the story is good :3 "
There was more to the story than just Cloud and Sephiroth. Shinra, the genetic manipulation, the draining of the planet's life force faster than it can be replenished, the corporate greed that cares little for those around them as evidenced by the destruction of the plating for the one Sector that killed those in t...

Nier was one of the very first reviews I wrote as an MVP. The set up there is a bit odd in my opinion as evidenced by the opening section, but that's how the site prefers it done. There was a lot to the gameplay in Nier so I broke it down into sections.

As a relatively new writer on the gaming scene, I have wondered a few times if there is a fair or accurate way to rate/score a game. There isn't really a good way to go about doing that.
I have written a few game reviews for the Playstation forums as an MVP. There I'm known as Papawarlock. I also have written 3 for Playstation Edge (playstationedge.com) Writing in general is an evolutionary process. The more experience I get writing, hopefully the better I will become...
One of the better written articles I've seen on the topic. At least it didn't sound like an angry rant.
I loved to hate Kefka. In my opinion he was the first bad guy I ever wanted to hunt down and eviserate. Pure unadulterated evil. Poisoned a full Castle/Town. Killed his Emperor. Managed to actually ruin the world.
I didn't care for Cloud or Sephiroth. Never really have. But then Final Fantasy IX and VI are my favorite Final Fantasy titles. By the time I played FF VII, I'd already played FF VI 4 or 5 times. I wanted to kill Sephiroth just to get rid of him.

For better or worse, I don't have to like the article, nor agree with it to approve it. It was well written. I don't agree with the author. I've seen a few that I haven't approved because they were poorly written or hostile.
Maybe that's the wrong way to go about it. If so, my apologies.
I meant to put that in the line that followed but did not catch it. So my apologies to all for that heinous error.
My apologies on the Dreamcast point. I meant for it to be placed on the line following and simply didn't catch it. I try to be accurate but I am not perfect. The sales for the Dreamcast were dismal after the PS2 was released and faded with the introduction of the GameCube and XBox and it was quickly discontinued. Fans of the system loved it and it had some great games, but it wasn't able to compete with the other consoles for one reason or another. Here is the edited bit.

It was an interesting article. Far better written than some of the other doom articles I've seen. But I don't feel that the Vita needs saving. Call of Duty will no doubt push Vita sales, as will new installments of other top franchises. It's far far too early to say the Vita is doomed.
Solid games are great for any console or portable device. The Vita has a few solid titles already, and many more in the near future.

" well the psp launched at 250 while ps2 was no more than 200 dollars maybe even 150. and the psp is the best selling non nintendo handheld of all time. 250 dollars back then is 290 of todays dollars because of inflation. vita is actually really cheap "
Actually the PS2 launched at $299 not $200. $250 in 2000 is worth $328 in today's money. By comparison $250 in today's money is worth $190 in 2000 prices. So the Vita would be cheaper...
Parents need to take the time to learn what their children are playing. Especially if that parent is not a gamer. Far too often it seems parents are more interested in shutting their children up and being left alone after work than they are in being parents.
I grew up gaming. I know what my daughter plays. I know what's in her games and I won't let her play anything I don't feel is appropriate for her. Not because society says so, but because I say so. I'm the...
I don't think that the market for dedicated gaming handhelds are on the fritz. Most of the people I know who are gamers don't game at all on their phones. The general consensus is that while some of the games are fun, they lack substance. If anything, most smart phone games can be compared to the old arcade games like Pac Man and Galaga. Fun. Addictive. But ultimately something to do to pass the time.
Gamers my age are more interested in gaming on consoles. We'd r...
Tales of Graces F isn't really an exclusive though. It was originally released on the Wii. The PS3 version is enhanced with extra stuff, but still not an exclusive.
I wrote this particular article on just the exclusives for the PS3. My next article will deal with the multi-platform games :)
Unfortunately this will be my last reply on this article as I can only respond 3 times right now.
If anyone has any exclusives that I've missed, p...
Definitely looking forward to tomorrow's demo of the game. I've been hyped on it since I first read about it over a year ago. Those weapons look great.
