Destiny simply isn't very good. I know 6 people that got the game, and only 1 continues to play it. I made it to level 8 before I realized just how poorly designed it was. I was looking forward to it since the initial announcement.
Sony has been known to be very anti-consumer long before Sony or MS started making game consoles. Both companies avoided standards to push their own proprietary tech. Neither is better than the other. Just companies trying to make rich people richer, on the backs of the everyman.
Looks good, but how does it play?
I'm happy that they are release heavy in the fall. Gives me time to catch up, and at discounted prices ;)
Those PS4 games that finally get released next year will cost you all full price. Just another way to look at it.
The Xbox UI is far and away better than PS4. Coming back from standby and basically unpausing your game to continue playing is a very well implemented feature. The PS4 has some merits too... I'm just not interested in them.

I just started Black Flag... I'm struggling to handle the boat and kill the enemy boats without dying. To be honest, I just want to sneak around and assassinate people inside of a cool world with a great story. It seems they've gone beyond that core gameplay and have bloated their game with uninteresting (to me, at least) side shows. I probably liked Assassins Creed 2 the best, or Revelations, or Brotherhood.. they all kind of blend together at this point.
Sony needs the money... they won't be dropping in price anytime soon.
PS4 is doing well. Hopefully they can keep it up. Lord knows Sony needs all the revenue they can get. Competition is good... need all players to survive and flourish.
I remember a photoshopped original PS3 making it look like a George Forman grill :)
Do these sales numbers include digital downloads from the Xbox store? Just curious because I and many others buy direct these days... discs are a pain in the arse.
Edit: I did my own research and found that digital sales are NOT tracked. Game sales #'s are not accurate until this is corrected.
This game wasn't hyped at all. They showed some gameplay vids, then released the game to great critical acclaim. Destiny was hyped as something it never intended to be by he developer themselves. SSO never over promised a single thing, and delivered exactly the game critics and fans expected.
Thousands? Do you want to be taken seriously? Use real numbers.
Most reviews indicate the game gets great about an hour in. I agree with those reviews. SSO is great fun. You missed out. And I don't even like open world games for the most part.

Watch dogs was not on my radar at all, so Destiny takes the cake. I was hyped for years for Destiny... and what a pile of garbage it turned out to be.
