When Major Nelson used to believe that the Xbox One graphics power was similar or better than the PS4's. And he never spoke of it ever again after the resolution and fps comparisons showed that the PS4 version of multiplatform games run better.

The point that he was trying to make in his second comment was that you would save a lot of money on games and possibly extra controllers if you bought a new Xbox 360 after the first. The console price comparisons are not valid against that point. A person can amass 5 games during the first year and that would equal to $60*5 = $300. Correction, it will work with anything, but better in games in the "first person view." And genres that don't commonly use the first person view camera can be tweaked for VR use.
