dual booting on mac hardware is encouraged by Apple. they give you a little tool called boot camp to do just that
it's about the inner beauty. Mac users don't care about all of the things PC people are defending. For mac people, it's about the Mac OS. It's not perfect but it's a user interface preference. I have built gaming PC rigs and I always end up hating them and using the mac for everyday stuff.
this shift is probably only for mobile devices. They have too much invested in intel tech to drop them....imo
