Freedom of speech in the U.S. constitution only protects the speaker from the government. It will not protect you from individuals or companies. Therefore, the "freedom of speech" argument has NOTHING to do with Sony or the scum buckets targeting them.

I think you're right on all accounts. However, I do believe both markets are here to stay. The economics are simple though. Most core gamers do buy casual games as cheap, quick thrills as well as the big budget games but the casual gamer will spend his or her money only on Angry Birds and the like.
If you were a publisher, which type of games would you concentrate on making? The ones the minority of people buy or the ones that the majority of people buy?

It's obvious that the casual market is the most expanding and profitable niche to go after. Inexpensive games for cheap thrills.
I like the hardcore as much as the next guy but let's face facts. The most hard core platform (PC) is dwindling and with the direction Sony and MS are going with the motion/ family games, they too know where the money is. This is no longer an industry led by high poly count and texture res. It's about getting as many units sold as possible...

I do know what it means and apparently so do you. Good for you! Too bad you just assume Obama's policies are socialist because you are just told that it is. Reciting an old McCain bumper sticker does not say that you understand policy. Like I said before, (based on what he has actually done) he is a corporatist. His health care is identical to Mitt Romney's health care system so that must make him a socialist, right? Look at the millions of more customers he is just handing to th...

that couldn't be further from the truth. Many congressional Dems are not too happy that he just rolls ove for the GOP on tax cuts, Health care, unemployment, social security, war spending. Should I go on?

if you think Obama is a socialist you have no idea what socialism is.
He is a centrist corporatist.
Republicans have moved so far right lately that they would consider Nixon a liberal.

By the way, it wasn't Bush or Clinton. Do the slightest bit of non-fox news research and you will find that this all started with Reagan's deregulations and union busting.

Just because one event precedes another, does not mean that the first event caused the second event.

I think D3athc3ll's point is that the price/performance margin of a PC just isn't worth it. Consoles, although inferior, are just more bang for your buck.
