From what i can see, the graphics are not impressive at all. I'm sure the game will work, I just dont' see why a game that takes this long to make can't boost an impressive level of detail. VF looks way better, in my humble opinion, both in respect to character animation and environment.
to answer your question: people who aren't gamers will buy a stand-alone blu-ray player. which is basically the majority of people.
I know it makes sense that the ps3 is a cheap, great player that ALSO plays games, but to the consumer who is not into video games, it all looks a little to.. how do you say... "immature".
Alas, the majority of the consumers are simply unaware.
sorry, my response was meant for another person
I would have to disagree. Gamers who are willing to spend 600 dollars and then 60 dollars per game thereafter, are well aware of new technology and are not going to ignore the fact that they are now the owners of a next-gen, High-def player.
It's not so much about mixing the gaming and the movie realms, it's more aiming at a certain age that will make the difference. PS3 owners are helping push the blu-ray technology more than anything else right now, if you want prove, jus...
actually, its not that this article is a lie in anyway, it's just competely bizzare how there is no mention of blu-ray what so ever. The numbers might be right, but what is concidered a significant milestone in HDDVD promotional group's standards is not necesserily on par with the sucess of blu-ray.
Needless to say, niether format is taking off as fast as either groups might have hoped, but that's what happens when you launch a mega-successfull format like DVD that provides ...
What is this piece of garbage promotional "news" item? blu-ray is clearly dominating the HD market. I just feel sorry for those who believe otherwise.
its pretty fascinating that this entire thread became about jade. And french? man.. i'm in love.
what i'm trying to figure out is : if it's such a major "real-time" evolutionary thing, why not wait till E3? I'm terribly excited, but something seems fishy here.
you participate in the hype discussion... very interesting.
Its the whole mystery element. we love to find out what's inside the box. it's human nature.
that's a very interesting point. I doubt anyone will change their reviews though, It's just too late. Unfortunate timing really. But i do notice a significant upgrade in color depth/contrast in games. One that saw the most impressive upgrade was the MSG: Crossfire demo.
Actually, the source is Metacritic.com, which is a very reliable rating site for ALOT of things... you should check it out.
Who doesn't believe that Sony is actually working hard on making great quality first/third party titles that are interesting and unique? They ARE trying.
sure.. cause Halo started rechargable health.. are you kidding? rechargable health's been around since the stone age... or even earlier: the beginnings of RPG.
The 1up team say theyre already sick of the Halo Beta, so go figure. How can one game stand against such awsome original exclusives. Face it, xboxers, there isnt much original content on xbox: Fact. PS3 will dominate by 2008: Fact. and i couldnt be happier i have a PS3.
Delive, it should be like HOME, only those who got accepted into the beta should see the icon and be able to start.
anyone working on Res. Evil 4 comparison? I'm surprised no one posted anything yet. That game is pretty jiggi-ful on HD 480p.
yo bubble decreaser, i don't know why, but i picture you with a little Swiss accent... its very funny what you do: "too much bubble". I like that. Keep that goin. hehe.
no no... the beta has been out longer than RFOM, didn't you know? hehe.
way to compare boredom, Chemical.
all there is to it is that people like looking at pictures and comparing, its sort of like a game in a way... a mini visual game. Is it stupid? sure... is it gonna stop? hell...no.
meanwhile, the world is moving forward.
I wonder how this will effect gaming. will 8x disc speed help gaming in anyway? i suppose it would. But i think the most important advantage here is production speed. Producing mass dics will be an average of 10x faster than before, which is freaking significant.
to be honest, i just want this thing over with already. I'm sick and tired of seeing people in a state of confusion. I mean the technology is just sitting on the shelves and this stupid "war" is too much for the consumer. Although i have to say that the competition did help lower the prices and ultimately making this a sweeter deal for us all...
I know that paragraph just contradicted the hell out of itself..... but i'm just glad the world is going from blue to blu...
