2008 certainly did belong to us and so far, 2009 certainly does. I can admit the 360 does have a VERY strong 2010 lineup, shame it took MS almost 3 years to have a great lineup again though.
The PS3's price was actually cut in mid-August and many retailers sold the Slim before Sept 1st. Yet the 360 still gets raped after a Halo game, price cut and $50 rebate.
