There are people who have the exact same criticism I have. The game doesn't balance between cheese and serious because it's all cheese now.
I have my problems with the game but I'd still recommend buying it since it's still a better game than what we usually get.
Doom Eternal is too goofy, the platforming aspect feels out of place making the level design feel off because of it. The game's atmoshpere is lacking due to the goofiness. The 2016 game never took itself too seriously so why did they make Eternal feel like a parody of itself?
Doom (2016) was better because it wasn't as goofy. Doom Eternal is too tongue-in-cheek for my taste. Also the level design in Doom (2016) made more sense. They felt like real places. Doom Eternal's levels do not have that same feeling due to the platforming elements which feel very out of place.

lol it's common knowledge that PC gamers are desperate for high quality single player games and they are begging Sony to port PS4 games to PC.
The graphics are great, the music and the atmosphere are great. The story is entertaining, too. Too bad that the gameplay, you know the most important part of games, itself is as entertaining as doing household chores.
