I'm not sure if I'm understanding this correctly, but it sounds like the guy bought a stuffed animal Yoshi and used him in his game. If that's it, he's still dumb. If I were him, I would think there was a toy company that owned the rights to the design and I wouldn't be allowed to use it.
This isn't the first time this happened. There was an iPhone/Pad game called iZelda, which was just Doodle Jump but with Link.

Great! Just simply terrific! First, a game I don't care about (Kid Icarus) delays the production of this, then I hear there might not be new characters, and now Sakurai breaks his arm. It's like God does not want SSB4.
One reason is that they make Link a lefty, like it's supposed to be.

I watched a bit and the only difference I see is that Melee is WAY faster than Brawl. Don't bother explaining it to me anymore. I'll just play Melee again and see if I can figure it out myself.
