i completely agree with you that 100% 'objective' is impossible.
no matter how relevant is what we say or think, it is still our own opinion. BUT thats the job of a professional to be as close as it is possible to those glorious 100%.
"BETTER" is no longer so subjective if you review correctly.
a game try something new or it doesnt. a game has good graphics or it doesnt. it takes 5, 10, 20, 50 or even more hours to beat it. whats the resolution? frame...
you dont get it man. Crazzyman didnt prove your point at all.
who is determining this BETTER game? the freakin press! professionals write reviews, thats their job. and an accurate review is a review valid for every gamer, an objective review. certainly not something like "oh i like this game cause u get to kill a lot of things".
