1. 10 years ago, yes. Today, no. AAA blockbusters can cost as much as Shenmue 1 or 2.
2. All we need is Yu Suzuki, the creator of the game and a good team around him.
3. Not if they release Shenmue 1 & 2 HD remakes. Plenty of fans would buy them, plenty of curious gamers would like to discover them.
The only reason it's not happening is because nobody has the guts to make it happen.
Shenmue 1 and 2 were originally released for the DREAMCAST. you know, the console made by SEGA, between the PS1 and the PS2?

the italian reviewer of eurogamer gives the game a 9, which is added to PS3 and 360 on meta. but 8 only added to the PS3 metascore. interesting...
i cant help but think that game isnt on the right platform. it should have been a multiplat or a PS3 exclusive.
the fact that games like the last splinter cell is rated above alan wake is beyond my understanding. kinda shows what people like to play on that platform... imo alan wake is one of the best solo game on 360 right now.
