I don't know, it's really though to think about that. I mean streaming is good, but the quality of a BD picture and sound is far superior to a streamed movie and I'm not sure if Microsoft can/would want to ignore such a feature that could attract a lot of consumers. Of course they easily could, because BD players are cheap to get now so it would make sense that they expect most consumers to already have a Blu-Ray player. Furthermore if they opt against it they would not have to pa...

Do you really think so? I mean the PS3 was and still is one of the best Blu-Ray players out there, especially at that price point. Sure there are always better options out there, but because the PS3 is the best selling player out there you can always be sure that no matter what is added to the Blu-Ray format will be supported on the console as well. And the good thing about the PS3 that it 'only does everything', so it's not JUST a Blu-Ray player, but also offers other movie relat...

@ Squall5005:

I do agree with you 100%, but the thing about thebooklet made me laugh. It's sad how only very few games have a cool booklet nowadays that are in color, with cool artworks and some story details, that sometimes couldn't be found anywhere else, not even in the game itself (#Nostalgia). But I guess RPG are still more likely to have these, but your comment just made me think back when it was the standard to have a good booklet.

Or you just buy it on a Blu-Ray... *facepalm*

Edit: After reading more comments I'm not sure if everybody knows that the article is about the digital version of the game and NOT the install size for the BD-copy of the game.

There are other reasons like marketing and so on as well, but that's what it comes down to imho as well. People in the US just prefer Microsoft over another foreign console manufacturer. It might not be the reason that they would give if you ask them and a lot may not even be aware of it really, but I think Microsoft did a good job establishing everything they produce as a first choice for consumers in the US in general.

The speed tests are kinda stupid tbh. As for games it does much more depend on the slow BD speed which is the same all the time and of course the HDD/SSD you're using. Also I didn't notice a difference in the XMB or booting times.

And about the downgrade thing, I think it is good that some unnecessary features that most users did not use and just cost more in some cases to implement have been dropped. I wouldn't call it downgrading, it's more like optimizing i...

Yeah, because there are no exclusives coming out for PS3 this year and 360 has tons of them, right?... oh, wait, it's the exact opposite, all the other multiplatform games are there too, BioShock, Tomb Raider, Crysis, etc. Another flaming article about Sony by a real 'expert'. Very amusing indeed. But NGU, you do know better than that, maybe. And what comeback? Look at the sales and keep in mind that the PS3 came out a year later. Your brain should need to make a comeback dear sch...

Why are people still so butthurt about the new DmC and Dante in particular. Those people should get over it and wait for the actual game. Imho it's not a big deal if a game is taking a new direction.

I just felt like I have to comment on this... Anyway, I'd like to see a new crash game, maybe as a downloadable cross-platform game. But I don't know if hes still popular or not.

I don't think it's true, and IF it was, I'd disappointed by Take-Two's marketing team. However they knew when GTA was going to be released, so why would the set the new release date for BioShock when it got pushed back right around GTA?!
For me it would make sense to release it on April 23rd, maybe 30th. No other big releases are around that time except for The Last Of Us on May 7th, so the 23rd would be a perfect date and it would be pretty much in line with the final...

Is this 'my wallet is ready' a freaking running gag that always needs to be posted for an article about an upcoming console or game?!

Maybe they'll show it in 4k, but only as a graphicdemo, just like the GT 4k graphicdemo. I highly doubt we'll see any games in 4k next gen, not even some smaller games, unlike this gen where some games did run in native 1080p. $k isn't relevant at all and won't be relevant in 4 years. The conversion to 1080p isn't even fully over yet. And btw, if they are gonna present it in $k everyone will be bitching about the final game... again.

And the new year keeps getting more and more interesting. Can't wait for E3 2012, but I'm wondering what all the developers are goingt to talk about at GDC 2012 xD

Short answer. I want 60fps for native 720p and 30fps for native 1080p. That should be realistic.
