@raWfodog:
Plausible, but not likely. I mean yeah, Bungie is great and that guy is probably too, and he was a part of that team, but I'd still say that he was not a key member or part of that team, being on a team for such a short time for one project only suggests that he was hired just for that game, so it's not that surprising.
And I highly doubt Anonymous up there knew him, seems more like he's trying to get some bubbles. He probably just read...
Why is it sad? Why do people always say it's sad if someone leaves a company?
I mean, if you read his tweet then you'd know that his work on the game was done. He finished his writing on the game and then left because there was nothing for him to do there anymore, it's quite normal actually and it's not like he had to go or something went wrong or whatever, he just did his job and as a writer he sometimes has to be more flexible and has to find a new project ...
Totally weird, but just like the TV ads incredibly artistic and well, a lot harder to understand than most ads today and in general. I really like them especially because they are not your normal ads. They excite, shock, but fascinate at the same time. Ik people will and have been wondering what it has to do with the PS2, but that's the point, right.
I was assuming, that Amy Henning and Justin Richmond were both co-directing it, so I though 'ok, amy left, but now Justin will do the job', but reading this now really makes me worried. I mean, sure, it's ND and their quality is always extremely high, but on the other hand no one can ever tell me that a two changes that are that huge won't impact the game. The game now needs an entirely new director, probably some lead from the team will do it, but it's really hard to beli...
Well, your conclusion is that MS did that last gen because of the 360's popularity and the strong 3rd party support and Sony is doing it this time.
I don't see it that way. The reason why the PS3 ended up so strong was imho just because of the continuous support for 1st party games. When MS sat back and tried to safe money and made deals with companies like Activision (because MS didn't really care and has the money to even make a loss on that) Sony knew it could ...
These articles are so annoying. As soon as one company does a small positive thing to compete with the others it's always the end for the competitors. I mean what is it with all that bs and overreacting and overdramatizing?
Both are doing great. Both will have indie games. Sony will probably be ahead of Xbox this gen for various known reasons, but even last gen games like Limbo eventually found their way to PlayStation. And I am happy that it is like that. See, these indi...
Read other comments: It's fake, the pic is just a random pic (like many pics used to describe articles) and the session the author says it has been announced at has yet to take place, in about 1 and a half hours actually.
Lol? Debuted?!
At the time I'm writing this it is 4:04PM in San Francisco, that session with Yoshida and the two guys from R&D is scheduled for 5:45PM, so I am assuming that the folks over at forbes just wrote the article in advance and released it accidentally. Just look at when the article got out. Afaik nothing has been confirmed at all, YET!
This is not yet true, GAF is still up and the author does not know anything we don't. No need to get hy...
I'd love to see a 'Major' departure if you know what I mean.
Just joking but that came to my mind when I read your first sentence.
Actually two directos of ND. Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra are the co-presidents of ND
Anyways, funny comment by op, he was referring to the Amy Henning case (she wrote and directed the Uncharted games) and people made up the rumor that she's been forced out (which was bs).
I used to play RCT1 and 2 so much when I was younger. It's one of the few games is loved on PC and pretty much the only simulation game I played, but I do want a propper game for PC. This 'PC experience' sounds a lot like FTP and maybe even a facebook game, kinda sad, but I never got into RCT3 anyways, so idk. Let's hope the PC game will be fun.
The series deos need a reboot, otherwise it'll just get more confusing to stick with how it was before, not just in terms of mechanics but also story, they have lost themselves in pretty much every aspect trying to please fans with RE6 which did not really work out.
I'd love to see a new studio trying to figure out a new Resident Evil, that again focuses on a stronger narrative and more survival horror. In the past few years there have been quite a few good games that...
I can only speak for myself, but there is no store anywhere near me where you can get a PS4 and online retailers don't have them in stock as well, just checked that (and resellers on Amazon or Ebay don't count imho). They do not even know when they will get more consoles or accessories. Luckily I have my PS4, but I'm still looking for that Wave Blue DS4. Not even the people at the Sony online shop know when they'll be available again, 'maybe around April' was their gue...
The author really tried stretching the rules here, by saying MS exclusive instead of Xbox exclusive, so that he could include games that are also on Windows.
However, this still disqualifies L4D. L4D1 did also come out on OS X later and L4D2 on OS X and Linux. So I guess the 'but it was exclusive when it first came out' argument will come, but that's relatively useless, because it's still not exclusive, maybe timed exclusive, but nothing more.

Cool, I love it when they share stuff about how they approach things at their studio. It's nice to listen to.
It's going to be interesting to see what ND will have to say at GDC. This year they are hosting 10 sessions about The Last of Us of which all will be recorded and hopefully most of them will end up for free on the vault. A lot of them sound interesting even for normal people.
They just are the best studio out there at the moment. Can't wai...
Well, BioShock 1 is amazing, BioShock Infinite has a lot of flaws, but is pretty good overall.
And there is also BioShock 2. A game that's not made by Irrational (2K Boston at that time), but other 2K studios, mainly Marin. And it's good; I especially liked the new perspective it gave you by putting you in the suit of a Big Daddy and Minerva's Den. Of course it was not that big of a surprise, playing in Rapture again was good, but a lot of the 'wows' were ...
I was about to say the same thing. Whoever wrote that article doesn't even know the basics. EVERYONE knows by now that you can switch the harddrive of a PS4 in just a few seconds just like on the PS3.
I stopped reading after this and after taking a look at the 'better controller' article he linked too, which is also quite.. let's call it interesting..
Simple answer: Yes.
But who would want to if they get the opportunity not to, right. So until anything changes we're gonna see more studios closing and a lot more stuff that becomes more mainstream (like BS Infinite and it's lame gun gameplay) in order to sell more copies so that it's still profitable.
I just don't get some of the stuff people are doing. It's like they are just throwing money out of the window for no reason.
Can't believe it, a great article from Polygon. Wow
Btt: I read it all, but I don't really know what to say or how to feel about it..
I guess I'm just sorry I guess. It's really weird that there were these ups and downs while reading this, just like in the making of the game. Bioshock Infinite was great and I hope everyone involved will find a new and maybe better job that they are happy with.
Yeah they teased the new game mode a few months back already in a blog post on their site. Guess it's some kind of extremely hard mode with limited (1 maybe) lives, or no checkpoints or no reload or something like that. Can't wait for it!!
